Review: Fits 2018 Tacoma w/ upgrade - My 2018 Tacoma I believe comes stock with a plastic housing but the aluminum version is a straight drop in upgrade that came with my used Tacoma and all the oil filter wrenches from my older cartridge style cars didn't really apply. I got a thin wall model similar to this a while ago when I got the truck and it works but has a 1/2" adapter and is really thin metal. This one seems to actually be much better being very beefy material. This uses a smaller adapter at 3/8 which sounds like a downgrade but the housing doesn't take high torque to put on or remove so the 3/8 is the perfect size for the torque wrench that matches the needed torque, on my old one I always had to use an adapter. I have never needed much torque to install or remove the housing, for sure nothing at 1/2 strength. Fits great, works well, good construction, and right size adapter.
