The Yorkshire Terrier Total Guide is a great source of knowledge for everything you need to now about Yorkshire Terrier. I have a pair of 4-month old Yorkshire Terrier myself and even though I own several other dog breeds, I could say that this one is really unique and a bit challenging to handle. They have a fair amount of energy so you need to really keep them busy most of the time. This book helped me a lot to overcome the challenges that I have faced while I am taking care of them. Now I understand their behaviour and temperament, so I already know how to handle them. This book absolutely made my life easy.

I was expecting more about how to train my Yorkie. This is great in reviewing the history of the Yorkshire Terrier, and some of the things to look out for with a toy breed, but what I really wanted to know were the differences in Yorkie temperament and training guidelines. Are all generic training tips also applicable to the Yorkshire Terrier? Can I treat my Yorkshire Terrier the same as I did my German Shepard when it comes to behavioral training? I'm still not sure.

I love the history of this breed - amazingly they were bred to kill rats in mills! It’s true! They can be aggressive little pets with some health issues to watch for and grooming is necessary. The author covers all that we need to know along with more history of famous Yorkies like Smoky in WWII and Toto in the Wizard of Oz.I always say, try to rescue a dog, that’s my preference before buying from a breeder. If no luck, find a reputable breeder.

As a dog enthusiast i’m always thrilled to learn new ideas on how to properly raise and train this type of breed. This book contains all the necessary information one should know before bringing a Yorkshire Terrier home. I highly recommend this book to other dog lovers out there!

My SO's parents are about to move and asked us if we'd like their little yorkie. Being cat people, we knew absolutely nothing about what he'd need aside from food, water, vet care, & love. This book filled the gaps in our yorkie knowledge and gave us the confidence that we needed to open our home to him. Would def recommend for both prospective dog parents and the experienced!

I don't think one can buy a Yorkshire Terrier without first knowing what you are getting into. The book may scare you away at first but if you are willing to go with what the book says/recommends and you have the time/patience it will pay off tremendously in the long run. This book is a must read.
