This one works well, has a nice finish
Capos are often a pain and my criteria were simple. I wanted a capo that would stay put, not detune the guitar, was easily placed/removed, and that wouldnโt Mark you the guitar or be too hard on the strings. I also wanted it to stay out of the way of my left hand as I played. I went through about 10 other styles of Capo and even different capos of this general style, even some of the more prominent name brands and this one came the closest to fitting those criteria. It had the most attractive finish and just the right spring tension. It works well on every guitar I have tried it on. I also have the X3 version, which has slightly smaller โgripsโ to place and release it, and it also works great. This is my go to capo for any of my acoustics when I am playing live. For an electric, I prefer the Shubbs because you can apply perfect tension (it is adjustable) and it is super low profile and really stays out of your way, but it isnโt very quick to set up. I have several of the shubbs and six of the X capos of this style (two are X3), and I always use these on an acoustic. This is a well made, well finished capo.

Great capo
I like how easy it is to move the capo to another fret. It holds down the strings perfectly so there is no buzzing. It does not at all interfere with my hand while I am playing. It is beautifully made, and so it complements my beautiful guitar. It is so nicely priced that I bought two for my two guitars.

This thing is AWESOME!!!
You know, I initially thought the price was a little steep for such a simple device but,,, Let me tell you. After this thing dropped into my hand, I instantly knew this was a game-changer. Music related stuff usually costs a lot as it is an expensive hobby and I don't make very much. So, I don't like to shell out my hard earned money for something that is going to be a major disappointment. Heck I've still got the first guitar stand I bought when I started playing guitar! Lol... This capo is heavy and very well made. Knowing that it should last about as long as I'd like to keep it helps me in verifying I made the right decision. I love how well it holds the strings without causing any undue fret buzz. Also, the way it is designed, it makes different key transitions between songs easy and practically effortless!! Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope this helps you in your decision to get this godsend of a device. ;)

Excellent Capo for both steel and nylon string guitars
Excellent Capo for both steel and nylon string guitars. I have many capos and many guitars. I have many capos because I keep buying new ones due to dissatisfaction with them. This little capo is worth three times the price. It holds ALL the strings firmly so that they don't buzz, on Electric, Acoustic and Nylon stringed-guitars and at the same time the strings are not compressed so tightly that they de-tune the instrument. Additionally, and importantly since I have very large hands, the capo does not get in the way of my hand when I'm playing. This is absolutely the first capo I've owned that satisfies all these needs. The construction is first class and cosmetically it even looks nice. I'll be picking up another one as a backup in case I lose it. And oh, yeah, it has a lifetime warranty. Bravo! For a well made and well priced product!

Good quality and durable, but...
This is a fantastic capo. It is very durable. The only thing I do not like is that it is kind of heavy. I am nervous if I were to accidentally drop in on my acoustic guitar, it would damage my guitar. I decided to use this capo only with my electric guitar, and keep it away from my acoustic. I use the black ultra lightweight capo (same brand) on my acoustic. I have owned the ultra lightweight capo for a year now, and it is still in perfect condition. I do love the metallic look on this capo, it is very nice. It is a very good quality capo, and works perfectly. If I were to purchase another capo in the future, I would probably purchase the ultra lightweight capo option.

buy it
Ok, I bought a pair of less expensive capos but had few week wait period so I ordered the"x" to get one earlier. Xcellent choice on my part. Well made, well contoured to the neck and just plain well made . It is also very attractive if that means anything for capo. After having received both capos at a later time, here are the noted differences. The cheaper capo does not follow the neck curve profile, it makes single point contact only. The xguitar capo makes firm full length and width contact with the neck making it less apt to rotate if bumped. The ribbed contact surface on the neck profile for this capo allows it to adapt to different profiled necks more effectively. The hardness (durometer ) of the rubber is of the xguitar capo is a bit softer and is less likely to mar the finish on the neck as well. Ergonomically it is also easier to apply. The extra price is well worth the functionality.

Great Capo!!
I intend to edit this in the near future, I have more to say. But regarding fit, finish, function, and value, it's top rated. Customer service seems very committed to qualify control, service and satisfaction of it's customers. They have contacted me a couple times for follow up, and that's a plus to me. I heartily recommend this capo, having been a regular capo user for over 30 years. I started out using some pretty poor designs. Even made a capo out of a pencil with rubber bands! Graduated to the nylon strap "flip cam". Eventually a new breed of "quick change" Capos were coming out. The Kyser was one that I used for years. This new capo is different ergonomically. I like this one better, as the grip is different. And I love the "black chrome" finish. I hope to get a cut capo when it is available. Great product. I'm glad I found you guys!

GuitarX 'X' and 'X3' capos are GREAT!!!
The GuitarX capo is definitely my capo of choice! Five years ago, i did a side-by-side comparison of the G7th Nashville, Planet Waves NS, Kava trigger-style, Kyser, and the GuitarX 'X' capos. (Note: my requirements include easy on/off clamping to my headstock.) The GuitarX 'X' capo won hands-down for comfort, ease-of-use, light weight, proper clamping pressure, and great looks (gun metal). I since bought two more -- one for each acoustic guitar case. GuitarX customer service also earns an A++. Recently, the oldest and most abused of my three 'X' capos developed a crack. So, i wrote to GuitarX: "If i send you a pic of my cracked 'X' capo and receipt from 4 1/2 years ago, would you send me a replacemnt 'X' capo?" (they have 5 year warrantees) GuitarX cust service: "Sure. Would you like to try our newest 'X3' model?" Me: "Would love to try an 'X3' sometime, but i'm kind of attached to my 'X' capos. Can you just send me an 'X'?" They sent me one of each, so i got what i wanted AND i could try the 'X3'. Now THAT's good customer service! ------------------------------------------ My review of the GuitarX capos... 'X' capo vs. 'X3' capo Note: there is some confusion with the 'X' model -- sometimes called the 'X1', altho mine is not the 'X1' with the plastic spring holders. Mine is the more elegant 'X1' model where the spring attaches directly to the capo metal (originally called the 'X' model, i guess). I already liked my 'X' capo more than any other capo i'd tried -- for comfort, ease-of-use, light weight, proper clamping pressure, and great looks (gun metal). AND -- the 'X3' is definitely an upgrade over my beloved 'X' capo. The 'X3' is a pinch lighter, thinner and even more elegant than the 'X', with more comfortable rounded edges and easier spring action. It clamps just as well, but with less effort -- due to the pivot point being closer to the back-of-the-neck, i think. The rubber of the 'X3' also protects the neck better at the pivot point. The 'X3' is also a bit shorter -- a much better length (the 'X' is longer than it needs to be, even for my wider-necked Taylor). I may buy two more 'X3' capos! CONCLUSION: The GuitarX 'X' and 'X3' are really great capos!!! I can't recommend them enough for 6-string, steel-string acoustic guitars. Bravo GuitarX!!!
