Good fit and comfortable, after a poor experience with another brand that lasted less than 3 months I opted to spend a bit more and immediately found the quality to be much better. Waterproofing seems to be good in the limited rain and the comfort is excellent once I broke them in a bit.

Purchased for a week-long winter hike in North Scotland in very muddy, also snowy, marshy areas. Worked perfectly! No water got in and very comfortable. Well worth it. High quality too

I purchased these for the wide fit option as all footwear manufacturers seem to believe we need our toes held in death grip by narrow footwear. To me they fit like a boot should with no narrowing, however they do not look wide ( was worried they would look like clown shoes. They do not. These boots are extremely light weight. Light weight to the point I've concerns how this will affect longevity. As of about a month no issues to share. Styling is OK, I use them everyday for dog walking so mostly covered in dust or mud so styling wasn't my priority. Kept me warm & dry so far. I'd go for the wide option even if you think you don't need it.

I ordered size 11 wide. These are by far the lightest most comfortable boots I have ever owned in 30 adult years. They are as light as my summer time mesh sketchers and they do not seem to make my feet sweat so these may genuinely be good for all year round in which case i may buy a few pairs and rotate. The single piece of formed leather over the toe area ensures they will stay waterproof and they seem to be of decent quality construction, I hope they will be durable but only time will tell on that. I am not expecting them to stay immaculate, nothing does. But if I can get a couple of years walking out of them then I will be back for more for sure. Highly recommended for walkers.

Columbia has nailed the balance between comfort and performance with the Transverse Hike. The waterproofing is excellent — I've walked through streams, muddy trails, and wet grass and my feet stayed completely dry. The Techlite+ midsole provides a really comfortable amount of cushioning for long days on your feet without sacrificing trail feel. The outsole grips well on both wet rock and loose dirt. They ran true to size for me and required very little break-in time, which is a huge plus. The low-cut design keeps them versatile enough for everyday use but they feel solid enough for proper hiking. Very impressed with the build quality and genuinely one of the best walking shoes I've owned.

Comfortable and easy to wear. They feel light on the foot, grip well on most paths, and kept my feet dry in wet weather. Simple, practical hiking shoes that do the job well. Great quality!

I'm 6'3" tall and 185 lbs. I also have size 15-Wide feet which has always made shopping for shoes really difficult. So you can imagine my delight in finding these Columbia boots in exactly my size! Columbia is a brand name I trust with a good track record over many years. The good news? They're comfortable, flexible, and fit me perfectly! The quality of these boots is also first rate - the stitching and assembly of the boot is excellent. The insole provided is comfortable, providing a nice cushion with each footfall. The quality of the soles and tread are tough and long-lasting! I do a lot of hiking and hill-climbing in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. I cover about 15 to 20 miles each time I go out and encounter a multitude of varied terrains ranging from volcanic basalt (smooth and often slippery), volcanic lahar (composite and aggregate mud flow which is very abrasive and rough), meadows, wetlands, gravely surfaces, and dry dusty trails. These are rough conditions with many changes in elevation, and these boots hold firmly on all of these surfaces. The ankle-high design with the scoop back gives your Achilles tendon room to move freely providing necessary support without constriction. I'm confident when hiking, especially on steep inclines with a rugged surfaces, that I can rely on them to keep me safe from slipping or falling. I'm keeping a log of how many miles I walk in these boots and will be interested to see what their longevity is. So far I've covered over 60 miles in these boots and the tread on the soles hardly show any wear at all. These boots are also stylish and look great when I wear them. I receive compliments on them quite frequently. A great consideration is also the value for the money. For a mid-priced boot, they outperform boots I've paid nearly twice as much for. I will definitely buy these boots again when the time comes.
