Blimey. Where do I start. I’ve just retired my trusty old Netgear Nighthawk R8000 after many loyal years of service and replaced it with the shiny new Netgear Nighthawk RS500… and I feel like I’ve gone from driving a dependable old diesel estate to being handed the keys to a spaceship. The R8000 was a solid workhorse. Faithful. Dependable. Occasionally needed a stern look and the odd reboot when it got ideas above its station, but we understood each other. It did Wi-Fi. It did it well. It had little lights. We were content. The RS500, however, is something else entirely. Setup was suspiciously easy. I kept waiting for the usual networking faff, obscure settings, and the ritual sacrifice to the gods of DHCP. None of it happened. It just… worked. First time. Which frankly made me distrust it for a few minutes. The speed difference is absurd. Devices that used to wander onto the network like they were queuing politely at the Post Office now connect like they’ve seen the pub shut sign. Downloads are instant, streaming is flawless, and the house Wi-Fi coverage has gone from “fair to middling” to “blanket of invisible wizardry.” Rooms that previously required a small prayer and a specific stance near the doorframe now get full signal as if the router has taken it personally. Wi-Fi 7, as it turns out, is not marketing nonsense. It is witchcraft. Where the R8000 coped bravely with modern life, the RS500 positively thrives on it. Laptops, phones, tablets, smart TVs, smart plugs, and the assorted digital nonsense we all seem to own now — it doesn’t even blink. Everything runs flat out, all at once, without the slightest hint of sulking. And the stability. Oh, the stability. I used to know the exact facial expression my family wore when “the internet had gone funny again.” That face has not appeared once since installing this router. Peace has returned to the household. Even the admin interface feels like it was designed in this decade. Clear, fast, logical. No archaeological expedition required to find the settings you need. In short: this is not an incremental upgrade. This is a generational leap. If you’re sitting there with an older Nighthawk thinking, “mine still works fine”… yes, so did mine. And I had no idea how much better it could be until this turned up. Five stars. No hesitation. No regrets. And my only complaint is that I didn’t do this sooner.

The router was easy to install and transfer existing wifi settings, My wifi coverage has increased dramatically within my home and I have now got a stable wifi connction through out.

I have been using Netgear Nighthawks for years and I love them. I received an email from Netgear telling me they were no longer supporting my last one, which I was annoyed about as I have only had it 2-3 years. However, it forced me into purchasing a new one. I bought this one from Amazon Warehouse for around £200, around half the price. The set up process was ridiculous using the app which I've never had a problem with before. It would intermittently work then stop working. I then accessed it through the web page, it downloaded an update the app didn't find, and everything worked perfectly! The difference between this and my last one is unreal. My speeds, connections and coverage are incredible and I couldn't be happier. Don't give up with the set up, but Netgear really need to look at the app and sort it out.

I’m using the NETGEAR Nighthawk BE12000 (RS500) with 4th Utility FTTH on the 2.3 Gbps tier, connected directly to the CityFibre termination point, and it’s been fantastic. Setup was quick and easy, and the speed and coverage are outstanding — solid performance in every room. Only downside is it takes a bit long to restart, but overall it’s a great router that really makes the most of full-fibre internet.

I like it alot. More future proof. Easy to use. Signal quality is excellent. But do I have thick soild walls around home. But my main use is living room. So not bothered if a little bit of Signal drops in kitchen etc. The size I like small footprint fits perfectly in my set up location. My old equipment was outdated. When I purchase a new phone in some time then can unleash wifi 7 potential. Still on wifi 5. I am on fibre optic broadband so this router helps giving extra ports on top of my hub and dedicated wireless networks.

Range worst than my old router and over and 3 weeks wait for a refund if you buy from AMAZOM warehouse

Considering I was paying for 2gig up and download I was getting about 800mps max on my old router. Can't believe the result in this

produit d occasion a la base ! routeur bonne couverture pour la maison ! tt fonctionne correctement ! Sonos fonctionne bcp mieux et l internet est bcp plus rapide que le Orbi wifi Mesh que je viens de retourner !!!! un seul et gros wifi !!!!:)

Ytterligaren en grym router i raden av Netgearroutrar jag haft genom åren.

Nachdem mein alter Netgear-Router nach über 10 Jahren nicht mehr so wollte, habe ich mich für diesen entschieden. Für meine Geschosswohnung + Terrasse (in Summe ca. 130qm) reicht dieser Router aus um überall annehmbares WLAN zu haben. Mit annehmbar meine ich, zumindest 2k streaming am Handy. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Produit correspondant à mon attente, très facile à installer, ma box est très loin de la pièce de vie avec l'installation du routeur wifi j'ai augmenté le réseau wifi de plus de 4 fois et donne un super réseau dans toute les pièces ce qui n'était pas le cas auparavant, super.
