I was skeptical of this product, but decided to give it a chance as I suffer from tightness in my neck and upper back. While it takes a few minutes to adjust where it kind of hurts, it soon turns into a very relaxing feeling. I use it every day and I have to say when I get up I feel refreshed. The pillow and spikes are well designed and feel very high quality. I think it is the perfect size to put out of the way when you're not using it but big enough to cover a significant portion when you lay on it. The pillowcase can be removed for cleaning, I appreciate this added functionality. Overall, it gets plenty of use at my house so I would recommend this pillow and I believe it to be a solid value.

Where have you been all my life Shakti Mat? Oh my goodness!!! I'm a newbie at acupressure. Past doctors have recommended acupuncture but I'm actually terrified of needles and my insurance didn't cover it. I'm in my late forties and have always worked a very physical job. My first experience I put this extremely well made pillow behind the bare skin of my neck and shoulders and laid down. Ouch! The first couple of minutes were uncomfortable and yes, a bit painful. I just closed my eyes and meditated until 10 minutes had passed. I sat up and carefully moved my neck from side to side and rotated my shoulders. I was in shock from happiness. There was no tension, no tightness and no pain! I immediately moved the pillow to my lower back for another 10 minute session. I have multiple back issues and achieved the same amazing results. After the sessions I felt a soothing warmness spread around the area I used the pillow on. My flexibility is better, my pain level is better and once you get used to it you look forward to using it. I always explore natural remedies and take zero prescription medications. I was hunting for the perfect pain liniment but this pillow will take the place of that. I love the exceptional quality of this pillow. These are handmade and it even included a card signed by the lady who made my pillow. This company takes good care of their workers which is very important to me. I absolutely love owning this pillow and will be spreading the word to anyone I think could benefit from acupressure. It's so easy to use. The color and design all look and feel very high end. The quality is excellent and I think it's worth every penny. Five huge stars!!!!!

Wow, this ShaktiMat is amazing! This is my first introduction to a ShaktiMat. They say to use it skin-to-skin, which I did. It didn't really hurt - I could feel the sharpness, and it does dig into the skin a little, but after a few minutes all that goes away and it feels very, very good. I used it for about 15 minutes, and when I got up, my back wasn't sore at all (I've been having a lot of back and hip issues this past year). I was shocked - I was able to walk around fine. The effect lasted for a while - I guess it takes using it regularly to have any lasting effect, but at least I got some immediate relief. I also used it sitting upright in my chair last night, and it worked equally as well. I am sold! The pillow is about 11"x16" and is very fluffy. It has multiple round plastic discs with plastic spikes sewn on one side. The covering is a heavy-duty, soft canvas-like material. There is a zipper on one side, and inside is another fully encased pillow - not just stuffing. Because it's black, it does attract animal hair, but that is easily cleaned off. I scanned the code on the enclosed card, and they have stories and videos about how these ShaktiMats are made, which are very heartwarming. The company allows women in India opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have, and the pictures and stories touched my heart and soul. This is a very insightful company and a quality product, and I highly recommend it.

But really, it's not as terrible as I feared it might be. People told me that if you suffer through the "I'm lying on a bed of nails" feeling, when you get up you feel amazing. So I decided to give it a go. Yes, lying on it feels like lying on shards of glass. It doesn't pierce the skin, but it gives you hundreds (thousands?) of sharp pokes. But they're oddly satisfying. After lying on this pillow for 20 minutes (I've used it on my upper back and lower back), when I get up, I do feel instant warmth and relaxation. My lower back is where I hold tension, and where I often have the most fatigue/pain (probably because my abs/core aren't strong enough), so using the Shakti pillow there is really amazing. It releases all the stress I hold there, and makes my back feel calm and relaxed. I'm shocked at how much I like it. I come home from work and I WANT to lie down on this for a while. No complaints. I'm still mystified about how this works, but I can report that it does work.

I do not like when I accidentally glide my skin over these spikes, but otherwise I have been loving this spikey pillow. I normally most enjoy using it on my back without clothing, and can not lay on it for very long, but I find it very enjoyable and relaxation inducing, and I think my tolerance may increase over time. I do use it on my head sometimes but it is not pleasant on my ears and they are big ears so I have to be careful when I do, plus it seems not ideal for my hair. I do love it for the back and other areas. I would probably consider getting the full pad - these are made with the highest quality and ethics at heart. The spikes are very well made as it appears all the other reviewers have mentioned, and to note, the spike's outer circle spins, and it is the cental circle point which is secured to the pillow. The pillowcase can be removed to be cleaned.

This is truly a great product. I had seen their marketing on social media for a while, but hadn't committed to trying any of their products yet. This product definitely has an adjustment period. Straight out of the box, I was like "woah, this is sharp". And it feels even sharper laying on it. But trust the process and persevere through it. Take deep breaths, maybe play some music or a podcast in the background to pass the time and keep your mind occupied. Then, once you get off of it, you will feel relaxed. I have a lot of back and neck pain and use this on both areas. I feel very noticeably better after, as if the pain was never there. It is not a permanent fix - you have to keep using the product to keep seeing those results, but I'd say it's well worth it to lay on a pillow for 20 minutes a day and get pain relief that I couldn't get from heating pads or painkillers before.

I really like this pokey pillow! I didn't expect to like it or to get much benefit from it, but I do and I have. Yes, of course it's uncomfortable at first, but I usually get used to it in only a matter of a few seconds. I can feel the increased circulation as the blood rushes to the area--that alone can significantly help relieve pain. There's no broken skin or anything; this is only acuPRESSURE, but it does remind me of a good, strong back scratch, and I think we all enjoy that. It feels good while I use it, and it feels good immediately after I use it. I have been using it on my lower back, my shoulders and neck, and even my lower arms and hands. I'm not sure I've used it enough to decide whether or not it relieves or prevents chronic pain, but I can't wait to experiment and find out. The pillow itself appears to be very well made with quality materials and solid stitching. The cotton is organic and the Blissfoam fill material is recycled. The whole thing is ethically produced by hardworking women (mostly) in India, the home and birthplace of acupressure. The spikes are only one side of the pillow, and they are arranged as a Level 1--perfect for beginners! I think this pillow is surprisingly effective, so I am happy to recommend it. It is absolutely worth a try, especially since you can return it within 30 days if it doesn't work for you. Five stars!

I am a proponent of alternative remedies and naturopathic therapy. That being said, acupressure provides relief for me with certain ailments. While this review should not be construed as medical advice, I am simply reviewing the effects and benefits of this pillow. For my use case, I place the pillow underneath my neck while laying on a flat surface, making sure it covers part of my shoulder and a bit part of the back of my head. You feel an immediate quick tingle during to the pressure points on the pillow and the first reaction is to tighten up and not totally relax my head. With time, the tingling goes away and as time goes by, the entire head/neck surface starts to relax, accepting the pressure points. I usually fall into sleep quickly. Upon awake, I have felt refreshed and without pain. Using this pillow is an extension of tools you may already have if you are into acupressure. For me (this is only my opinion), this is a fantastic natural therapy. The pillow is well made, the pressure points are sharp but do not pierce skin.

Love love love this pillow. I started off with the mat and the addition of the pillow is bliss. I think starting out with level 2 would be better for me personally as the hair mutes the points a bit. You do need to give it some time, the first 10 mins is going to push you and be uncomfortable, but if you can make it past this to 20 minutes you will feels the tingles and experience the positive feelings as the product describes. The pillow is very soft (minus the spikes) and is very comfortable to rest on. 10/10 would recommend

I can’t describe how great this is. Forces you to relax. One of my favourite purchases of 2025. I have along with the mat and have fallen asleep on it dozens of times. Feels like it shouldn’t work but it absolutely does - definitely worth having the pillow if you have the mat- and it’s the real deal quality wise
