really convinient, I can just put them in the oven and dry them

I was thrilled to find something made in America! It looks well built and should last for years due to your ability to dry it out and reuse. The negative, there is a very snug plastic cap that would normally be used to seal the exposed metal grid area when not it use. It’s almost impossible to remove. I had to use nail clippers to snip a path up the side to remove it. The final metal lid is a little loose. I fixed that by wrapping some electrical tape around the seal 3 times. If you don’t tape it, there’s a high possibility you’ll have a giant mess on your hands. The pros, it appears to be drying my AMS compartment well. It fits inside my stand full size filament roll with a little room to spare. As it turns, it shifts the beads around making sure to expose the max amount of beads to the moist environment. I’d say it’s functioning great after adding the tape I. The middle. Just remember to remove the tape when you bake it dry in you over.

This is a simple solution to filament desiccant. Dry a roll of filament, place one of these in the middle of the roll and seal it up with a vacuum bag.

PSA: For all the people who can't be bothered to look at the box these come in (like me): When taking off the plastic cover from the lid, twist it in a counterclockwise direction. If you twist it the other direction (like me) you can and will accidentally twist off the top of the container, spilling some desiccant on the floor..whoops..These directions are listed on the box, so I can't really knock the manufacturer for my mistake.On to the regularly scheduled review:These are really nice desiccant containers. They fit perfectly in the middle of my spool. I'm not normally too fussy about keeping my filament dry, but I am using it for some TPU which is notorious for sucking up water.These containers are nice because once the desiccant becomes too wet I can just throw them directly into the oven. No need to worry about transferring them to a pan and spilling half of it in the process.A little bonus is that they include a little strip to tell when the humidity is getting too high. Would it have made sense to include two since it is a two pack of silica containers? Maybe..but since its an extra they don't mention in the listing I can't really complain about it.Some others have complained about the cap coming off too easily. I shook and spun mine all around and the cap doesn't loosen at all (except when I take off the plastic cap without reading the instructions like a buffoon) I don't have any concerns with using it in a spool while feeds on an AMS.So, all in all if you're looking for a spool mounted desiccant container, these add a little bit of convenience!

I got my first 3D printer in 2013 and have tried a lot of methods to keep my filament dry. I always used silica gel and it's always worked for me. But I'm always open to trying something new. These cannisters look great. The mesh lids keeps the material. I like that they also included thick plastic caps. I can recharge the cannisters, cap them, and run a piece of tape around it to seal the moisture out.I tossed the cannisters in my oven to drive off any moisture. While I was waiting, I put the included indicator card in a plastic container. The card was reading 50%, close to 60%, when I put it in. I also placed a digital hygrometer in there too. BTW, the card is a nice addition, but purchase digital hygrometers. They are relatively cheap and react faster than the card. After two hours, I pulled the cannisters out of the oven and let them cool. Then I placed them into the box. Within 15 minutes the humidity changed from 61% to 46%.If you print from a dry box and the spool is supported by the rim, these are perfect.

Look out for the tops of the cans! They want to come off and dump things everywhere.Other than that, these are a very nice premium product with a premium price. They sit nicely inside my spools (mostly Hatchbox and 3D Fuel) and do a great job pulling down the humidity. If you have lots of space in your storage box, well maintained bulk silica gel is a far more economical product, but I am quite impressed with this stuff.Minor quibbles: the lids are terrible! Good grief. There’s also no instructions stamped or lasered onto the cans of how to dry them. I think I’m going to use my laser engraver to add this so I don’t have to hunt it down every time. And finally, there’s no indicator for exhaustion so you just have to pick a humidity threshold and deal.Overall a nice solution for an extremely specialized problem. Not for most folks, but can’t be beat for people who need it.

I really love how these fit into the filament rolls. I also like that it's entirely taken into consideration a factor that I hadn't even thought about when getting silica gel packs. It's making me consider going through all of my silica gel packs and throwing them out now. Unfortunately, I'm already stocked up on a bunch of those. considering that these are very professional and I love how they look and the fact that they just slip in between the rolls so perfectly definitely aid to the value and functionality of this product, I can say that they seem trustworthy and while I don't have a way to test out my filament and see if they've dried it, I believe I can trust it and will continue to use these and maybe even replace those old silica gel packs with these in the future because these are great. Honestly, it's the most convenient way I've seen to keep your filament dry
