My absolute FAVORITE PANTS EVER!
After trying these pants for the first time, I absolutely love them! Regular jeans will never compare! If you are an athletic person, or just hate the restricting feeling of most regular pants, then these are the pants for you. It almost doesn't seem fair that women get all these comfortable, stretchy, athletic wear, and men have mostly been stuck with sweat pants until these past few years. *****PROS***** -These pants look nice; you can go out with them for any casual, or even semi-fancy outings, and still feel free and mobile! -Play sports in them! you can move as you wish without any problems and its such a great feeling. Specially not having the "can't lift my leg any higher" or "can't squat or widen my stance in these jeans". If somebody shows up to your location and starts shooting up the place, you have the ability to run, vault, and somersault unhindered. -although [arbitrarily] expensive to use as work pants, you can squat freely, step-over easily, or move about as you like with comfort. -they are Levi's... enough said right? *****CONS***** -the only problem I have noticed is due to the "stretchiness" of the material, wearing a belt is almost an absolute necessity. Otherwise you risk killing people with crack... because crack kills. Basically the will slide down a bit, but most jeans do that anyway. -secondly, there is one tiny issue that only occurs in some pants. When walking, you may notice the material "catching" itself just under your gooch/butt. Because of the Elastane material, it just slightly less soft than 100% cotton (motion jeans contain 98% cotton, 2% elastane) and you may hear this low flicking noise as you walk. not a major problem, just a little annoying when it happens. -lastly, on the every once in a long, long, occasional, while... you might catch a leg hair in the elastic material and you will feel a little itch. on the same note, if you are allergic to any sort of elastic/spandex type material, definitely don't buy these. **********************FINAL NOTES******************** These pants are my number one choice. I currently have three [different colored] pairs and i take good care of them. make sure you follow the recommended care, and they will last you a very long time. On the other hand, if you can't accept any of my listed cons, or you are a heavy guy with a big belly/waistline, these may not be so great. 5-STARS!!!!

Levi Jeans-great jeans at an attractive price.
Long-time Levi lover. Great product for a great price. May be noteworthy that these pants are full cut -not - not fall off loose but plenty of waist room. Still love my Levi’s.

My new favorite jeans!
Well for starters, I'm 45 and I dont wear skinny Jeans! So dont get that impression of these jeans. I'm 6'4" 235 and I can get away with the 514. I have an athletic build. I wear 36 Waist 34 Inseam. I have to say that the 34 inseam is LONG so be careful. When I was a kid I always had to hunt for 36 inseam 501's but these days a 34 inseam is PLENTY long so either My legs have shortened and my torso kept growing of over the years Levi has changed their dimensions to make people feel shorter?? I dont know. ANYWAY..... They are my new favorite Jean! These are advertised as slim and that is what they are. They are tighter in the thigh but still comfortable. However the seat and crotch have plenty of room and for me the low rise is also more comfortable then the old style 501's or even 550's. I have actually grown tired of the baggy look anyway. If you are chubby or thick, well these might not be your style. But I am still trying to look hip in my 40's and these 514's are the trick! They fit exactly as the 527 but the Boot Cut 527 has a larger leg at the bottom and larger opening. I like those as well but they are a bit to belled out for me. The 514 still has a large leg opening and looks great without being overly belled out or being tapered down too much like the old 501's when I'm wearing my flip flops (I live on he beach) They ride Loooow. So beware. If you are not used to the low ride style I suggest you get a pair and try them out. I wear a belt to adjust the ride so it doesn't slide ! Having to pull up your jeans all the time when you sit gets old so for me a belt is a requirement with the low ride jeans. LOVE 'em !

Pants.
Look, I put my pants on one leg at a time just like anybody else. These are the Levi's Men's 514 Straight Jean in Dirt Rush and the size is a 34x34 (don't judge me, I'm tall but I put a little weight on from eating good). The pants arrived looking pretty much like you see them on Amazon. I even stood in the same pose as the guy modeling them and wore a dark green shirt and dark shoes to complete the whole picture. Yep. They are the same. So that's one star for no false advertising. Now then, how do they fit? Well they fit great thanks for asking. They are comfortable, they wore-in nicely after a few days of wearing them and they look good if I don't mind saying so myself. Often times it's tricky to dabble in the high-pressure world of buying pants online. What happens if they aren't what you wanted? What if they look weird? Am I going to have to return them? Couple that with the fact that Levi's likes to change-up their jeans for no apparent reason (the 514s might be completely different next year than they are now and so on) and you have a hell of a situation on your hands. But I'm here to say that it's alright. Calm down. You can order a pair of jeans from Amazon and feel relatively secure in knowing that they'll be what you expected and cost less than buying in a brick 'n mortar. I'm almost certain I ordered these jeans from my phone in a bar after like 5 Carlsbergs. So there ya go.

Jeans are trousers, a type of garment, typically ...
Jeans are trousers, a type of garment, typically made from denim or dungaree cloth. Often the term "jeans" refers to a particular style of pants, called "blue jeans," which were invented by Jacob W. Davis in partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. in 1871[1] and patented by Jacob W. Davis and Levi Strauss on May 20, 1873. Prior to the Levi Strauss patented trousers, the term "blue jeans" had been long in use for various garments (including trousers, overalls, and coats), constructed from blue colored denim.[2] Originally designed for cowboys and miners, jeans became popular in the 1950s among teenagers, especially members of the greaser subculture. Jeans were a common fashion item in the 1960s Hippie subculture and they continued to be popular in the 1970s and 1980s youth subcultures of punk rock and heavy metal. Historic brands include Levi's, Lee, and Wrangler. In the 2010's, jeans remain a popular fashion item, and they come in various fits, including skinny, tapered, slim, straight, boot cut, cigarette bottom, narrow bottom, bell bottom, low waist, anti-fit, and flare. "Distressed" (visibly aged and worn, but still intact and functional) jeans trousers have become increasingly fashionable, making pre-sale "factory distressing" a common feature in commercially sold jeans. In the 2010s, jeans are a very popular article of casual dress around the world. They come in many styles and colors. However, blue jeans are particularly identified with American culture, especially the Old West. As well, although jeans are mostly known as a popular fashion garment for several decades, they are still worn as protective garments by some individuals, such as cattle ranch workers and motorcycle riders, due to their high durability as compared to other common fabrics.

Good fit and comfortable.
Love the fit of these jeans. It's not too loose and provides enough stretch to make it comfortable. Looks great too.

watch carefully for fabric composition -- 100% cotton is wonderful, 2% elastane is not
I have now ordered three pairs of jeans from this item page. I love two of them (5 stars) and hate one of them (1 star), so I've given an average rating here. Below I will distinguish the two types so you know what to look out for. For reference, I am a woman. I was fed up with two things in women's department stores --almost no jeans in my size (2) and all the jeans having stretch to them. So on the rare occasion I would find a pair of jeans in size 2, they would have spandex or elastane in them and they just did not fit. They would hug the hips but gape out horribly around my lower back. I decided to try men's jeans. The first pair of these I ordered was wonderful. I got 29 x 30 after my husband and I compared his measurements to mine, like where I wanted my jeans to rest on my hips and such. 30 is a tiny bit long for me but I can make it work. The first pair was 100% cotton and they fit pretty well. A little loose, but comfortable. And they stayed up. (I don't have any curves, my waist to hip ratio is like 0.8, so I don't need hippy jeans. That's one reason I thought men's jeans would work.) In the crotch area they are kind of high up and there isn't a ton of room which is obviously not a problem for me, but the story might be different for a guy. Having had this good experience, I ordered a second pair. The second pair I got was like a totally different item. Just awful. I realized, after the fact, that they had 2% elastane in them. I think this is the problem. I had assumed all the jeans on the page would have the same fabric composition but they didn't. I decided to give this pair a go anyway, but after a few wearings, I think they are going in the Goodwill pile. Yesterday I was actually able to pull them all the way down, while they were buttoned and zipped! They sag horribly in the rear end area (Kim K., I am not) and the crotch is a good 3-4 inches below where it should be. (Not extra room, just poor fit.) They seem worse throughout the day, the longer I have them on. I was more careful with the third pair and it was a repeat of the experience with the first pair. Moral of the story: not every item/color on this page has the same fabric composition. Select your size from the drop-down list, then click on the individual colors. The description beneath the pictures will change. One of the first lines is fabric composition. Choose carefully because the different fabric compositions DO NOT fit the same way. A perfect pair of jeans in 100% cotton will be an absolute failure in 2% elastane. All the jeans are well-made, with no holes or loose seams. They are the quality I've come to expect from Levi's over the years. They have held up to washing pretty well so far (yeah, I wash my jeans every time I wear them). I haven't had any trouble with colors bleeding in the wash. I do hang them to dry as I feel they stay nice for longer that way. If you are tracking such things, all of the ones I ordered from this page were made in Mexico.

My husband was so happy with these jeans. He’s had this Levi before but we couldn’t find it in stores. Looks great on him. Fits well and comfy!

Just what you'd expect
I've been looking to replace my old worm out previous version of these for ages and even trawling the shelves of Macys, Levi stores and various others outlets on trips to the US I couldn't find them. A tad expensive but well worth it.
