A very smart vacuum and mop robot which does a very impressive job
I wanted to use this vacuuming and mopping robot for at least a month before I wrote a review, so I really could get to know how to properly use it and how it performs. It is so easy to use. Technically, you could get started immediately once you plug in the charging station and give it some time to charge. Out of box, the only assembly is popping on the cleaning 'whiskers', slipping the mop pads on, and popping in the detergent container which is already pre-filled. For a fast start, you just push the button on top of it and if it's the first time, it will go around and map out the rooms in your home. Once mapped, you can just start him manually by pushing the button and use all the defaults set up or better yet, add the app to your phone and you can see all the settings and modes you can use. For instance, you can do regular vacuum suction or super-powerful suction. Or, for area rugs (or any rug actually), you can tell it to vacuum it, cross over it (skip it), or don't even get on it at all- side step it entirely. Each run, he's (I named him Wally) constantly updating his surroundings so your map will get better each time. He will do one room at a time and do the outside boundary first including baseboards if you want him too, then he goes back and fills it all in. He will stop on occasion to go back to his base to either recharge (although he carries a charge for at least 2 hours at full force capacity and mopping.), empty his dust tray (it gets sucked up and compacted in the main dust bag in the base), or to rewet and clean his mop heads. There's a smart mode where you can just let the robot decide what to do- he knows if it's carpet, tile, hardwood, area rug, etc. He's very quiet, I usually cannot hear him at all when one room over or more. In fact, we had the football game on when he came into the family room and it didn't even bother us where we needed to turn up the volume. It's not a whisper, but it's not loud. Kind of like constant 'white noise' in the background. If he somehow gets stuck, he can call for help by making sounds. Or, if you don't know where he is, you can either just look at the app and you can see him moving or where he's stuck right on your map. If he does get stuck somehow, you can opt to receive a text. I do this, and it says exactly what's going on, error code, what room he's in, you can even see the path he took in each room for that particular cleaning cycle. Back to getting stuck, he does an excellent job of avoiding obstacles, but I initially forgot to mark certain areas where I want him to skip in the app. (This is easy to do, you just shade in the area on your map and he will avoid it, but make sure he has access to a path in or out or past it - he follows instructions so if for instance you block too much and cover the door way leading back out of a room, he will stop and send you a message. I forgot to mark under my bed as a no go zone, so once under there it was like an obstacle course, things shifted, there were wires and cords, etc so he got stuck. Not his fault, it was mine for not keeping him out of there. You can set up a schedule in the app where you decide which days of the week, how often, which tasks (mop, vacuum, or both), and which rooms or entire house). He's connected to your phone via a bluetooth connection so you need wifi. We had no dead spots or issues so this was a non-issue but I just wanted to bring that up. Also, if he's vacuuming and let's say he can't get it all in the first swoop, he'll go back and do it again. If he still doesn't have it all, he will repeat this multiple times until either it's cleaned up or it's just not gonna come out- this is for both mopping and vacuuming. His base takes up about as much room as a home office sized paper shredder. If you need help or have a question on how to do something a certain way, their customer support has always gotten back to me within 24 hours via email- or you can call. I hope you found all of this helpful. I would definitely recommend you get yourself this model (Freo Ultra Z).

Upgrading from an OG Narwal Freo/Roomba i7+ combo to the Narwal Freo Z Ultra was a FANTASTIC move
Decided to replace the white whale OG Narwal Freo (primarily mopping) and a Roomba i7+ with a friendly cleaner that's as quiet as a ghost and could handle both vacuuming and mopping WITH obstacle avoidance. I moved my auto-water drain/refill station from Moby's cave to Casper's cave without issues and it works great! Mapping was just as fast as the OG Narwal, and the Z Ultra's object avoidance algorithm is SLICK. We have a ton of electronics and random phone chargers in the house and it avoided every single cord, and some of my roommate's dog's REAL pet surprise on the first run without issues (the surprise was left AFTER I started the first cleaning and went to bed, so... Thank you Narwal for that! 💯🔥👍👍🤜💥🤛🏽) The Freo Z Ultra is on an entirely new level of autonomous mopping, in my opinion. I can't begin to explain how ridiculously good the mopping is, but with Freo Mind and the automatic water exchange system, I'll say it went from "game changing" to "LIFE CHANGING." I cannot explain just how ridiculously life changing NEVER HAVING TO TOUCH YOUR ROBOT is. I automated a Freo Mind (vacuum and mop simultaneously) schedule for 3AM every day, 7 days a week since I got it last Tuesday. I haven't touched it since. I wake up every day to clean floors... Vacuumed floors. MOPPED floors. REALLY. CLEAN. FLOORS. We have 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 3 people with long hair in this house. The dogs splash water, the cats kick litter, and the humans drop crumbs, splash drinks, cough and sneeze, drag their feet, come in and out of the house with dirty shoes. OH and we have 5 aquariums that we're constantly shuffling water to in order to top them off, and of course, we splash water all over the tile while doing this. NO MORE STAINS. No more crumbs, no more water spots, no more pet tracks on the tile, no more weird streaks from the stupid BraavaJet M6+, no more hassle with only running the mop when I'm around to babysit it. I can have the Freo Z Ultra clean while my girlfriend and I sleep, and I don't have to think about it anymore. Having 100% autonomous floor cleaning is an entirely different level of luxury that you have to experience to TRULY appreciate. The OG Freo changed the game for mopping, and the S1 Pro may have raised the bar, but when the Freo series (OG, X, and Z) can continue to mop 100% autonomously with ZERO human intervention, I will take the Freo series over the S1 Pro Every. Single. Time. The Freo Z Ultra, when paired with the Automatic Water Exchange System, will literally keep mopping the area and cleaning the pads until it's done with the mess. No gripes about running out of water, no getting up from the couch, or coming home to a half-assed job because it ran out of water halfway through the cycle, no forgetting to dump the dirty water tank while away for the weekend and coming back to a tank that absolutely REEKS. The Freo Z Ultra (with automatic water exchange system) is the kind of hassle-free cleaning I always dreamed about, ever since the original Roomba hit the market. It's literally the type of cleaning experience we've ALL been waiting for. === Biggest gripe about the unit is how the roller goes into the unit. It has a guide pin and two "tongs" on either side of the roller, but while it looks rotationally symmetrical, it's not. If you get something lodged in the roller (I HATE TWIST TIES! I HATE THEM SO MUCH) and you take the roller out to clean the area, you can accidentally install the roller's tongs "upside down" and you might not even notice. You WILL notice the vacuum can't dock though, it'll reverse and clip the auto-empty bin hole over and over. If this is happening to you, take the roller out and spin the roller 180° so the tongs are in their proper orientation, then close it up. And... probably run the vacuum again because the roller most likely fell out of position and didn't agitate the carpet fibers to loosen anything. Aside from that, the Z is a fantastic step up from the OG Freo. I think keeping the same form factor as the OG Narwal and especially the water tanks was a genius move for reducing production costs and making the water tank universal between Freo models. Standardizing parts to minimize production costs - that's big brain thinking, Narwal 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 and it was executed perfectly! Day 12 with my Freo Z Ultra, ZERO TANGLES, ZERO ISSUES, FLAWLESS FLOORS!!! Can't wait to see how the "heavy duty detergent" and "floor maintenance" modules work!!! Let's GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT BUY!!!! PIECE OF GARBAGE AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS AWFUL!
Avoid Narwal at All Costs – Terrible Product, Even Worse Customer Service I put this machine to work. I have a 3,000 sq ft main floor with mixed flooring, and I ran my Narwal for almost six months. At first, it seemed fine, but that didn’t last long. Here’s where it all went south: • For the price, this thing is garbage. The cost doesn’t come close to matching how it performs. • The mapping is awful. It never cleaned “edge to edge” like it claims. Even after several remaps, it constantly missed large areas. • Maintenance is expensive and constant. Each mop cartridge costs $35–$40, and you’re forced to buy Narwal’s own brand. The vacuum bags are also pricey. Knockoff versions barely work and can cause dust to blow all over the inside of the unit. • It doesn’t even empty itself properly. Every other cleaning, I had to take it apart and empty the onboard dust cup manually. • The dirty water tank stinks, always. I cleaned it every single morning, and no matter what I did, it still smelled foul. The design makes it impossible to clean completely. • The base tray grows mold. The area where the robot “cleans” its mop pads turns into a science experiment in a day or two if you don’t scrub it constantly. Then came the disaster. Around month four, I noticed water pooling around the base. When I moved it, I found that the base had been leaking underneath and my wood floors were buckled, and the baseboard was pulling away from the wall. After doing some research on Reddit, I found that this is a known issue: the pump that drains water into the dirty tank can fail, flooding under the base. Because we ran it nightly, the leak had been happening for days, hidden under the giant base. I contacted Narwal support, the only way to reach them is through a ticket system. While waiting for a response, I filed a claim with my homeowner’s insurance, who sent a mitigation crew. Unfortunately, our flooring was discontinued, which meant we had to replace almost all of it on the bottom floor, a $22,000 repair. Narwal’s response? They emailed me in the middle of the night (their customer service is overseas) apologizing and asking for photos and videos of the damage, which I sent along with the repair estimate. Their solution was insulting: they offered me a free accessory kit and a $30 check. I asked for a full refund or a replacement device, and they refused. This dragged on for more than three weeks, with days between each reply, while my house was being torn apart. Finally, I reached out to Amazon, explained the situation, and they stepped up like a company should. They had UPS pick up the unit, and once it was returned, they issued me a full refund. Amazon is the real hero here. Narwal, on the other hand, has permanently lost my trust. Every time I see one of their ads, I warn people to stay away. We replaced the Narwal with a Shark, and it’s night and day. The cleaner costs $13 for a huge bottle, no dust bags needed, and it actually cleans edge to edge, something the Narwal never managed once. Save yourself the money, the stress, and the damage to your home. Do not buy anything from Narwal.

6 months of ownership and zero regrets
I have owned a few robotic vacuums and a robotic mop over the years, so wanting to spend even more money on yet another device left me feeling more than skeptical. I have owned the Narwal for 6 months now, using it weekly to vacuum and mop multiple areas of my house, including both wood and tile floors, and I have no regrets on this purchase. To be able to push a button and this device literally does all the work of vacuuming and mopping the floors is amazing. It gets under furniture, in corners, and detects items lying on the floor and maneuvers around them so they don't become "dinner" for the Narwal. As a bonus, it also dusts the baseboards as it goes along with a soft attachment on the side. The only effort I need to do is add water and empty dirty water for the mop and occasionally replace the waste bag. The mop heads are self-cleaning and they actually clean really well. They are white cloth and the Narwal auto-detects when it is time to go back to the station for a cleaning. I didn't think it would actually keep the mop heads white, but after 6 months, they are as white as the day I first used them. It also auto dries the mop heads when it is done mopping so no mold or mildew after. Previous robotic vacuums I owned would get stuck and I had to hunt them down under furniture because there was no way to know where it got stuck unless you happened to see it or hear an alert. The Narwal, on the unusual occasion it does get stuck somewhere (which doesn't happen often), it tells you right on the app exactly where it is located, so no hunting. What a concept! The best part, it is quiet. When I read other reviews saying the Narwal was quiet, I thought, "No way". I had to pause every other vacuum I ever owned to talk on the phone or watch TV. Not the Narwal. It can vacuum and mop while I sleep and it doesn't disturb me at all. I have cats who hated my previous vacuums, beating on it and running from it because the device was so loud and the cats were "chased" by it. With the Narwal, the cats actually walk right up to it and aren't scared of it because of how quiet and predictable it is. When the Narwal detects a cat, it stops. When you first set up your Narwal on the app, it asks if you have any pets, so it can detect pets in your home during task completion. Predictability in performance is so important. Other vacuums drive around haphazardly, and you hope it happens to get every area of your home. They also need need to return to the base to charge, but it doesn't exactly know where the base is, so it drives around aimlessly until it gets within range and then tries to dock, but gets it wrong over and over and has to keep trying. Sound familiar? Yeah, not the Narwal. The Narwal always knows where the base is. When it needs to go back to the base it goes straight there, drives in to the base the first time like precision. You never realize how annoying other vacuums are until you get the Narwal and you don't have to settle for inadequacy anymore. Now you are probably thinking, this sounds great, but what are the drawbacks? If you want something that is the equivalent of scrubbing the floors on your hands and knees, this isn't it. It isn't 100% perfect. Yes, you will find the occasional crumb still on the floor after vacuuming and you aren't going to eat off your floor after it's done mopping. This isn't a professional cleaning service. It's a robotic device, so I would say manage your expectations. I didn't go into this expecting perfection, so I'm okay with this being really good, not absolutely perfect. It has saved me from a lot of labor, and that matters to me as a person with chronic health conditions. The app has a number of settings and it took me a while to figure out where all the settings are, but I appreciate that it has those customizations. If you don't feel comfortable with technology and app use, that might be a drawback for you. But you could just simply use the buttons on the Narwal unit itself rather than the app for operation. A pro tip: use the lock feature on the unit to lock the buttons. My cat started using the Narwal as a perch and accidentally started pressing buttons. He felt all powerful at his newfound skills in being able to launch the device all on his own!

What A WOW This was for me!!
Let me start from the beginning...I have two very large Labrador retrievers, one black one chocolate. They shed like there is NO TOMORROW. Years ago, my mom gave us a Rumba as a Christmas gift in the hopes that it might relieve me of the nightmare life I live in when it comes to dog hair. Well to no avail, the Rumba conked out on us within a month. She was convinced I never set it up and for years have had to convince her that it broke because there is SO MUCH HAIR from these dogs. So I pretty much assumed I would never be a great candidate for a robot vacuum cleaner. Well flash forward to October 2024, I have just come home from a 5 day trip to Mexico with my BFF and only to realize that my husband (who stayed home) hadn't vacuumed dog hair the ENTIRE time I was gone. He wasn't home when I walked in and y'all the gates of hell opened up and the fury (and dog hair) exploded around and throughout me! He was on the golf course that day and quickly pushed me to VM when I called to chew him out about his bad decision to not vacuum the mountain of dog hair that had grown over a five day period. The hair tumble weeds had developed their own tumble weeds. When I heard his chippy voice on his voicemail, I decided "to hell with this", I'm going to buy the most expensive vacuum cleaner I can find on Amazon just to "show him". Well the jokes on me because what was supposed to slap him the wallet (aka his love language) turned out to be the VERY BEST PURCHASE I'VE MADE IN THE LAST 24 YEARS OF MARRIAGE!!! This vacuum cleaner is truly a miracle. It doesn't do super great with the dog hair as far as automatically emptying into the bin, I have to clean it out manually more often than not. But it sure as heck vacuums the hair up! It knows the space it's working in, it will mop over and over again until it is cleaned to it's programmed satisfaction. It is super quiet, my two dogs are not bothered by it all, and my floors have NEVER-EVER-EVER looked better! They get mopped daily and vacuumed twice a day for good measure. I've had it since the last week of October and still haven't had to replace the cleaning formula to a new bottle. I feel like I have a personal assistant who dutifully cleans my floors and makes what was once a really time consuming and annoying daily venture a thing of the past. I haven't pulled out a mop since I got it. It cleans my baseboards, warms up the water when it washes the floors and just goes about doing it's thing. For as often that it mops, the water is still dirty when I empty the bin. But that goes to show how nasty floors with dogs get when they are walking in and out of the house. This is the best mad purchase I've ever made. Oh and funny thing is...he never even said a word about me buying the darn thing. He sees me happy and acts like this was the plan all along when I flew off to Mexico and came home to the piled up dog hair. He says this was his way of making me happy. So happy ending to an annoying day that turned out to be one of the best decisions of 2024!! Spend the money...it's worth every penny!!

Decent vacuum/mop just wish it wasn't so expensive
**Update: It's been about 6 or 7 weeks now and the vacuum won't start. I keep getting an error code 1019 but the app does not explain what it means. Google helped but after rebooting it 2x and completely cleaning the base and the vacuum as well as replacing some parts just to be safe it still won't start. I called support and had to leave a message so I will update my review depending on what support does and how soon they call back.** **Update 1.5: Support called back the next morning and immediately took all the information needed and will get tech support to contact me in 24 hours. That being said, the vacuum started it's scheduled task this morning with no issues but of course did not do 2 scheduled tasks last night due to the error so hopefully tech can figure out what is going on.** **Update 2: tech got back that it was a known issue they were working on and I haven't had any further issues so seems to have been fixed. The baseboard attachment did break off the other night and based on where it was found, it seems to have been caught on my stair spindles. I couldn't find it online as an option to purchase a replacement but support responded to my email inquiry quickly and is sending a replacement.** I have had this for 2 weeks now and am ultimately glad I pulled the trigger and bought this though the price (even at $400 off) was a hard pill to swallow. To start, mapping was fairly quick and easy and it isn't hard to add rooms later if needed. I had it map just the main living areas at first, blocking the bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry room, etc. at first. It did notice the mudroom was more dirty on its very first cleaning mission and it went back for a second pass after it emptied it's collection from the first. It doesn't get as close to the corners as I would like but then again it is rounded. I also have a lot of angles that would be difficult even if it was square so it's not a deal breaker. I've had a few of my small rugs stop it up occasionally (it was very easy to pick up the vacuum to "untangle" it) so I bought rug tape to stop that from happening. The rugs amd carpets have not gotten wet from the mop pads even when running vaccum and mop simultaneously as the vacuum recognizes the different flooring. The app needs to allow for angles as I have a large shag rug I can't label as "no go" due to the angle it is at (corner fireplace and the rug is parallel with it). Fortunately the vacuum notices it's there and that it is too thick for it so it goes around it and the app does allow for me to label that rug to go around and not go over. The baseboard attachment works great for my cabinets toe-kick but is not large enough for my larger baseboards. We have 2 females in this house so lots of hair and when I finally added the bedroom with the most hair to the mapping (teen girl), it would roll up the hair as it vacuumed but would leave them in piles around the carpet; it did this the first 3 or 4 times vacuuming that room but the most recent time there were no hair balls so I guess the carpet just had too much hair as I know it wasn't vacuumed regularly. I did have it vacuum that room 2x immediatelyafter it first mapped it knowing it needed it but didn't think to increase the suction power so I will update the schedule for that room to increase the suction going forward just incase. At least the hair was in balls you could easily grab 🙃 and after looking at the brushes (and cleaning the zero-tangling floating brush that is purple in the picture) nothing was tangled around them so it must have just been the large amount of hair that has been brushed out over the past few weeks without vacuuming. I have noticed the vacuum runs out of water for large areas but kept mopping with dry pads as I saw no water residue at all; it eventually went back for a refill but it made several dry passes. I don't usually have it do that large room all at once and break it up in zones due to how big it is (living, dining and kitchen open concept). When it mops, it dries fairly quickly and doesn't leave a sticky residue once dry. I have a combination of engineered hardwood, carpet, tile and vinyl with rugs spread out on the hard floors in certain areas. I love being able to set different cleaning schedules and cleaning functions for the areas in our home. After running it daily for 2 weeks now with slowly increasing the rooms to include I am happy overall. I have to empty the dirty water usually every day as well as refill the clean tank but that is due to vacuuming and mopping nearly 2800 sqft daily (I still have one room and bathroom to add to the map). The dirty water tank has definitely been more clear as the days have gone so that I will be reducing the mopping down to just certain areas daily or as needed and just run the vacuum daily and the mop maybe every 3 or 4 days for the rest of the house. I did have to manually empty the dust collecting bag looking for a toy (spoiler: it wasn't in there) and was shocked at how much dust, dirt and hair was in there so it has been doing a great job getting my floor cleaned. One fairly important issue for me was the vacuum going over a floor outlet. It is raised slightly compared to the engineered hardwood and I have child safe plugs in it. After a few days of going over the area for vacuuming and mopping, the vacuum eventually was able to pull one of the plugs out so I've made that a "no go" zone on the app and will just manually clean around it. The few times that the vacuum had issues and was stuck (on rugs or a floor vent), it was very easy to find due to the app and even the camera feature as I could see what was in front of it and know where it was at. The app tells me nearly everything that is wrong or what needs attention except for when the clean water is out, then it only tells me it is paused. The base announces that the clean water tank is empty but for some reason the app doesn't and I am of course not always near the base to hear it so the app needs an update to send me notices about the clean water tank as well. Overall, it has been a life saver for me and my household schedules. Hopefully it keeps working great.

Get it! -- If you can afford it
Absolutely fantastic—I love this machine. The fact that it actually scrubs the floors with the mop pads instead of just wiping over them makes a huge difference. It also refills itself when needed instead of trying to stretch a tiny amount of water, which keeps cleaning performance consistent. Setup was extremely easy, and it’s very user-friendly to operate. The AI features are impressive, and the self-cleaning function is a game changer—it really cuts down on maintenance. My only downside is that it doesn’t get quite close enough to edges, baseboards, and corners as I’d like. But overall, it’s still one of the best cleaning devices I’ve used.

Updated Review – Great Mopping, Vacuuming Didn’t Work for My Needs
Disappointing Experience – Defective Product & Poor Support** ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) I had high hopes for the Narwal Freo Z Ultra, but my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. I received my unit on October 13, 2024, and by November 3, 2024, I had already reported an issue with the vacuuming and dust collection function. Their support team recommended changing the settings to maximum vacuum power and always-on dust collection, which I did. Unfortunately, this was only a temporary fix. By January 9, 2025, the problem returned ( dust bin gets to full and vacuum becomes ineffective ) , proving that the initial recommendation was not a real solution. After another round of troubleshooting, I was asked to send the unit in for repairs. Weeks later, I received it back, only to find that the dust collection issue was still not fixed. Despite repairs, and multiple attempts to adjust settings there is clear failure of the unit to perform as advertised, Narwal has refused to issue a refund, citing their 30-day return policy—even though I reported the problem initially within the first 30 days and have been dealing with this ongoing issue for months. Their only suggestion now is to reach out to Amazon, essentially passing the responsibility rather than standing behind their product. This entire process has been an exhausting back-and-forth, leaving me without a properly functioning vacuum for extended periods. If you’re considering this product, beware of poor quality control and a poor support process. I would strongly recommend looking at other brands that offer better reliability and customer service. Update I originally rated this product 1 star due to ongoing issues with the vacuuming and dust collection performance. After months of troubleshooting, I’m happy to say that Narwal’s customer service team eventually provided a full refund, which I appreciate. In terms of performance, the mopping function on the Freo Z Ultra is truly excellent — it handled my tile floors beautifully and left them very clean. However, the vacuuming feature did not meet my expectations, especially for my particular home layout and needs. Despite adjusting settings and multiple troubleshooting efforts, the vacuum struggled with dust collection and required too much manual intervention for a system that’s meant to be fully automated. While the product didn’t work out for me, Narwal’s customer service was ultimately professional and stood behind their product. I would recommend the Freo Z Ultra mainly for those prioritizing mopping performance over vacuuming needs.

An amazing upgrade that sets a high bar for cleaning robots at this price point...
We purchased the Narwal Freo Z Ultra to replace our iRobot i7 on the main floor of our house (1700 sqft). This floor is mostly LPV with a few rugs here and there. I had very low expectations for the quality of the mopping, so we were hoping to get at least the same performance from this device as the i7 when it came to vacuuming and keeping the dog hair and dirt to a minimum between cleanings. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it did that and more. Setup was easy, and the base station was obviously well thought out. I had some issues defining the rooms I wanted, as our space is very open and rooms are often delimited by furniture rather than walls. But the app has a number of different ways to work around that using no-go zones and manual mapping options. The device and base station have a modularity to them that's similar to the iRobot products, so it is easy to replenish and replace accessories and parts, either on their OEM site or here on Amazon. The capabilities can even be upgraded by installing an alternate detergent reservoir for spot cleaning solution, or even an automatic fresh and waste water management system. Scheduling and job monitoring are easy to use, but we struggle with some base station issues that are not clearly pushed to the app. For example, you currently do not get notified when the base station has run out of fresh water or if the wastewater is full. You are simply notified that a scheduled job cannot start, and usually it's not until the job has timed out and has been cancelled for being paused for too long. There are rumblings that this will be fixed in future app updates, but we've just got into the habit of checking water levels on a regular basis. Our i7 has officially been demoted to basement duty, and it's most likely that when the next major part needs replacing on it we'll probably replace it with another Narwal (It's on its last legs due to a deep clean and refit after an unfortunate run-in with a dog mess). Speaking of cleanup, the device is as easy to keep clean as our i7, but don't forget to pull out the mop head cleaning tray and clean on a regular basis. It does such a good job mopping that this tray gets really dirty and full of material (especially pet hair). We forgot to clean it after a month of daily mopping jobs and it needed it. Pros: - Great app, easy to set up - Mopping function is as good as vacuuming - Lots of options for replacement parts and enhancements - Quiet (compared to i7, even when set on enhanced suction) - Easy to clean - Doesn't just avoid obstacles, it maps them and has pictures - Cool security roaming mode that sends pictures of waypoints to the app - Object avoidance is more sophisticated, so it's gentler on our house Cons: - Base station notifications are limited, and you often miss them unless you are standing next to it - OEM replacement parts are available, but seem expensive - Room mapping in the app can be tricky to get right in open areas

Absolutely Worth Every Penny, Smart, Quiet, and Effective
I’ve owned a few robot vacuums over the years, but the Freo Z is on a completely different level. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was built with thoughtful engineering and quality in mind. Setup was a breeze, and the app is super intuitive. This thing actually sees and intelligently avoids cables, toys, and even socks. It’s not just bumping into stuff and figuring it out later like older models. I have a girl filled house, and the suction handles hair like a pro. The mopping feature is also impressive—it doesn’t just drag a wet cloth around. It uses hot water, and the self-washing and self-emptying base makes cleaning practically hands-free. What I really love is how quiet it is, especially considering how powerful it is. I can have it running while I work from home or watch TV without being distracted. If you’re looking for a top-tier robot vacuum and mop combo that really delivers on its promises, this is it. It’s not the cheapest out there, but the features and convenience justify the price.

Quiet, Powerful, and a Huge Upgrade from iRobot
We run the Narwal Freo Z10 every other night — even while we and the kids are sleeping — and it’s so whisper-quiet you barely notice it’s on. The cleaning performance is night and day compared to our old iRobot i7+. Carpets look refreshed, and hard floors come out spotless every time. The app is simple to use, and emptying or maintaining the unit is quick and painless. If you want a deep clean without the noise or hassle, this is the robot vacuum to get.

Extremely Disappointing Product & Support
I regret purchasing the Narwal Freo Z Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo. For a product positioned as premium, the overall experience has been frustrating from both a hardware and software standpoint. Customer service is ineffective and unhelpful. Every issue is met with the same generic response: “we will escalate your concern and keep it in mind for the future.” No real solutions, no accountability, and no follow-through. After only 8 months, the base station became defective, constantly indicating the water tank was empty when it wasn’t. The only option offered was a long, inconvenient ship-out repair process—no replacement, no immediate resolution. When the unit was finally returned, the entire mapping system had been wiped. Rebuilding and editing the map is unnecessarily difficult due to the app’s restrictive design. It lacks flexibility, has poor usability, and makes what should be a simple process overly complicated. The app itself is one of the weakest parts of this product. For a company focused on smart technology, the software feels outdated and poorly thought out. Limited functionality, frustrating controls, and unnecessary restrictions make the overall experience worse. Bottom line: poorly engineered product, poorly designed app, and very poor customer support. I would not recommend this to anyone.
