Great tool at a good price
I was the proud owner of the original Fein multi tool (oscillating tool). Cost me over $200 at the time. Finally quit holding the blades securely, so I started researching for a new one. I went to Lowes and looked at each brand, and found they all had some good and bad features. While one had a one hand blade change, it wasnโt blade interchangeable. The Makita accepted my old Fein blades as well as Bosch and Makita blades. It will also accept the star configuration blades. I think there was one blade it wouldnโt accept, but with this many options, who cares. I chucked my old Fein unit and took the metal case and made some modifications to house the Makita. I like smoothness of operation with minimal vibration and the variable speed setting. Iโm not a big fan of the battery operated units, probably due to my age. This tool so far has worked better than my Fein did when it was new. With the right blades for the job, work is quick and easy. Iโve always had great experiences with the Makita brand, and this tool doesnโt disappoint.

Simple to set up , and good quality as always
We have bought several Makita products, and all of them are simple to set up and start using right away. For me, that is very important because I donโt like spending time figuring out complicated assembly or instructions before I can actually work. Everything just fits and connects without frustration. On top of that, Makita tools are very powerful and reliable. They make the job easier and faster

Well designed, well made product
Great little MFer. Acquired for one task, which it performed perfectly. Now I get to use it for the next 30 years for other stuff all at no cost. I framed in some new window openings for my stucco covered house, I worked from the inside out. Built the rough opening frames with 2 X 4s, fastened them in place behind the stucco, then used the multi-tool with diamond blades, set the blade flat on the frame and cut perfect openings in the stucco, with no chipping or tear out. Performed flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Quality Tools Matter
Let me put it this way: I got the tool and proceeded to cut out the wood floor of a half bath in about 8 minutes. Then, I picked up my Dremel multi-tool...and threw it in the trash. Apart from how well the Makita cuts, it doesn't get hot and it doesn't make your hand vibrate for an hour after using it. There's some vibration that follows, but the difference is night and day from what I had to endure with the Dremel. And, the Makita actually cuts material other than drywall, The Makita is more expensive than some of the others, but it's worth every penny, if only for the reason that it cuts wood like butter. It's a quality tool and exceeded my expectations by a mile. My only complaint is that it's made in China. I'll never understand why companies with outstanding engineering and reputation believe it's a good business decision to go to China to manufacture their goods. I would have paid more if it was made in Japan instead of a country that oppresses its people so horribly; irrespective of the fact that it's also notorious for its indifference to accuracy, precision, quality materials and quality control. I guess companies are encouraged to do so because governments want to brag about lowering their country's emissions while forgetting to mention that they achieved it by sending their manufacturing to places where emissions aren't much of priority and likely never will be.

Perfect all around
I love Makita to begin with. The tool is not heavy. I am female and have small hands. This tool is perfect for me and it does the job perfectly. I wish I bought it sooner. I also prefer corded tools for constant power and of course lighter weight and this one is exactly it.

Tool is great. Case, not so much.
The tool itself is great. I like the slow ramp-up feature when you turn it on. It helps you place the tool where it needs to be more easily than if it started at full torque. It has fit every tool that I've purchased thus far. It has all the power I need without having to worry about charging batteries. My only gripe is that the case is not jobsite worthy. I only had it a week or so and the hinge got destroyed. It wasn't being abused, but it is being used in the company of contractors and other tools. I expected a more sturdy, well-built case from Makita to match the build quality of the tool itself.

Powerful, Quiet and Low-Vibration
This is an excellent corded tool. Compared to other multi-tools I've owned (Porter-Cable and Rockwell), this one is by far the best. It is extremely low-noise and low-vibration. Power output is strong, and the soft-start electrically-controlled motor doesn't slow down when pressed hard. I avoided buying other brands that require proprietary blade designs. Who needs the aggravation? This quick-change blade clamp worked perfectly with my universal-fit blades made by different companies. The kit comes with adapters for other types of blades, a sturdy case, one blade, sandpaper kit and a small detachable blade case.

Fantastic tool, quiet (relatively) with low vibration transfer to the user
I got this to cut some corner moulding down after having flooring installed, so I could reinstall the floor moulding underneath. It was quick and painless, and I didn't even feel the need for hearing protection for msot of it (though I still wore it), which suprprised me. The thing is big and bulky but not unnecessarily so--enough to give it some stability, and more importantly, it doesn't fibrate your arm off. I've since used it to do various weird cuts on trim pieces and wood. I haven't tried the tile or sanding attachments yet, but I have high hopes for this tool to be a favorite in the future.

Damaged item
Product was delivered in a damaged / used box. Outer box was fine. Item was sold as new on site. Disappointing. We returned the item for a refund. This was a gift that was not well received.
