I have brown hair with some natural blonde highlights, I want to achieve a sun kissed look and maybe go a bit lighter, will this work for me?

My hair initially was a light blonde. I got this hair dye because I wanted a bit of a change. I ordered the dark blonde. I instructions showed my hair would change to a light brown looking color so I was a little worried but ok because I wanted a change. I follow all the directions and wait 2 days... nothing. No difference. On top of that, it was a B**** to get out. I used at least half a bottle of color safe conditioner to get it out of my hair. A HALF HOUR LATER there's STILL small particles all in my hair. The reason I didn't give it a 1 star is because my hair is super soft now. Giving it the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't the half a bottle of condition I used. So overall 10/10 don't recommend. Unless you want an overpriced hair mask that doesn't come out for 2 days and makes your bathtub look like mud got splattered everywhere.
