Love this math
I used this curriculum for my 6 year old this past year, he loved this book and wanted to do it after doing the 1st grade book. This book like the others has plenty of review for the kids to learn the concepts, My boys have used the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th grade book with my oldest just starting the 6th grade book. The only bad part for me is that because it has so much review my 6 (almost 7 year old) will not be using this book for 3rd grade, as it has too much review for him which frustrates him so we end up skipping quite a bit of the book after the concept is learned and reviewed maybe once because he has grasped the concept so well. So this is a great curriculum, for all math students. The colorful pages keep them engaged and interested, there are jokes on some of the pages and other things from their other books like balance benders that are fun activities for the kids to do. If my youngest did not want to skip half the book (He learns a concept then wants to do the fun pages but nothing else) he would be doing the 3rd grade book next year.

Colorful & challenging
Great math book in full color. This book is rated for 2nd grade but obviously when your child uses it will depend on their abilities. If you have a special needs child then this book is going to require quite a bit of hands on from you as there can be quite a lot of instructions to read on each page. Answers are provided in the back :)

I adore these books!
My sons have used this series for 3 years now and they are colorful, intuitive, and not overwhelming. I appreciate the spiral methodology as opposed to "units", I like that it starts slow and presents it in a way that the kid "figures it out" - I rarely have to give an actual lesson. Maybe the more complex stuff like carrying, but mostly they're like "oh. I get it." There are some pages of 2 dozen arithmetic problems, but it's not excessive. And it is so much more than just addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It's really well rounded. I love the logic puzzles and "fun" stuff shown in. My only critique is that it's very word heavy. I get that building mathematical literacy is important, but my boys are maybe a slightly behind in their reading skills so they really struggle and need a lot of help interpreting the directions and word problems.

Interesting and engaging ways to do math.
I like this book MUCH more than the i-ready math books we're assigned from the school. It doesn't have instructional pages for the math. The lesson is quickly worked in at the beginning of each page.

Great Math Homeschool Curriculum
We homeschool our son, and he loved this for his Math Curriculum. We changed this year to something else, and have not had great results. So we just ordered Level D. I love how the lessons spiral, so that he is a little older when we move on to harder material.

Challenges the kiddo to expand their basic understanding of a concept
We'll be using this book for the summer to keep our future 2nd grader engaged. Some of the concepts are challenging but we're ok with that. Good content!
