Hayward FDXLBKP1930 Bezel and Keypad Assembly Replacement Kit for Hayward Universal H-Series Low Nox Pool Heater

This is a great replacement for the stock bezel which will fry in the AZ sun in 2 years. The tinted cover works great and it is an exact fit replacement for the original. Easy to install and the cover should protect the bezel for many years.

The keypad on my Dad's pool heater went out. The repair guy quoted an outrageous amount for the part from his central office. He was a good guy and suggested I do it myself and gave me a few tips. It can be a challenge to figure out which Amazon part matches the Hayward part sheet. I can confirm that this is in fact "29 FDXLBKP1930 Bezel and Keypad Assembly, Taupe". It is also a little unclear what you are getting. This is the keypad that attaches to the "28 IDXL2DB1930 Display Board Only" via two screws and a ribbon cable. In my case it was very easy to unscrew the display board, disconnect the ribbon cable, discard the old keypad, connect the ribbon cable to the new keypad and reattach the existing display board to the new keypad. The keypad comes with a fresh rubber gasket. I had to push it around a bit to get the holes in the gasket properly aligned with the holes in the keypad bezel. I had to use a lot of thumb pressure to line up the holes on the keypad and the heater housing while trying to screw in the retaining screws at the same time. Nothing cracked or warped and the new pad worked like a charm when I tried it.

My Keypad was damaged by the sun. The buttons on the display no longer functioned properly. The model replacement for my heater was no longer manufactured, but this unit is it's replacement. I performed the following steps to replace the display unit. It was easy and worked well. I turned off the power Removed the old display unit from the heater by removing the 4 associated screws Disconnected the display from the backing PC board by disconnecting the ribbon cable connector Removed the PC board from the back of the old display unit by removing the associated screws Placed the PC board on the new display unit in the same place Re-inserted and tightened the associated screws that hold the PC Board Re-connected the display's ribbon cable to the PC Board Reattached the display unit to the heater using the associated screws Turned on the Power - The worked fine, no issues!

Overpriced, and mentioned by others, and I'm very disappointed that the previous panel degraded in the sun so badly after a few years. If they can't use better materials, they should incorporate a cover. Installation took no more than 3 minutes. I used an opaque black plastic notebook divider I had as a cover this time around. The unit is otherwise well made, came quickly and was well packed. Recommended, but it you need one, it doesn't really matter, you have to get it. Just make a cover to protect it from the sun.

Works great, keep it covered from direct sunlight. Mine is still working 4 years later.

Bought this to replace the keypad on my Hayward heater (H400FDN). The clear plastic covering the original keypad had warped due to the direct sunlight and let rain water in, destroying the electronics underneath. Fortunatley, the electronics and keypad are all one unit, this unit. Bought this from Amazon, got it in a couple of days, and easily replaced the unit. I give it 5 stars only because it's a perfect replacement of the original unit. However, I'm not very happy with the heater for having such a poor quality keypad in the first place. They're designed to be installed outside, right? Probably in the sun in most cases? It should tolerate the sunlight. I still need to find a way to shield the keypad from the sunlight. If anyone has an easy solution, please respond via a comment.

Once installed, the heater worked for about 4 weeks before the heater then displayed the 5B error which means stuck key or bad keyboard. After resetting the heater several times I have not been able to clear this code. The only option they have in the manual to fix this error code is to replace they keypad once again. VERY POOR QUALITY an/or VERY POOR DESIGN on Haywards part!

I bought the plastic outer panel and the Hayward display board that was showing the CE error message and another part (Hayward FDXLICB1930 FD Integrated Control Board Replacement Kit for Select H-Series Pool Heater) which I didn’t need $185.00. All I can tell you is it took me 10 minuets and that includes the time walking to the fridge to grab a beer. Great vendor, great service, fair price and I’m up and running. Thank you to the previous buyers with their posts, pictures and advice. Turn the power off, take a few pictures but it’s very simple. I hope this helps

Fit my heater (Hayward H250FDN) perfectly and brought keypad functionality back. Feel of the membrane switches is solid and construction quality appears good. Hopefully will last several years, but for now 5 stars as perfect OEM replacement. Note - this is the keypad only and not the control panel board that it connects to - exactly as pictures shown.

Easy to install. Excellent product. 2 minutes to install.
