I bought this to replace a Cuisinart grind-n-brew single serve coffee maker which only lasted two years. I love that this Mr. Coffee machine (which is about $50 less expensive than the Cuisinart) is much more versatile: It can make a single cup of brewed coffee or a full carafe, it can make iced coffee, it can make tea. It has a setting for everybody in our family, and when we have company we use the carafe. Everyone loves it. The first problem I had with the Cuisinart is that the grinder stopped working after about 3 months. I ordered a replacement grinder and that broke too. So I just went back to using a stand alone Cuisinart grinder (which I have had forever, well over 10 years, it is immortal). But then the Cuisinart coffee maker started to leak, I put a towel under it, but it was leaking more and more. To be fair the leaking may have been my fault because we have hard water. Once I replaced it with the Mr Coffee machine I switched to only using distilled water. Anyhow, if you look online for a single brew coffee maker you will see that many of them are ridiculously expensive, like $250. I love my coffee, but not at that price. This one cost $77 and the whole family loves it.

The Coffee Maker is pretty good overall. I like the ease of use an the coffee maker works well, BUT, the Coffee Maker after about 3-4 months started leaking out of the bottom when the reservoir is past half way full. I reached out to Mr. Coffee, They responded pretty quickly with the initial response, after that responses took about a week each time. Essentially I had to jump through hoops provide a bunch of pictures to prove it was still in warranty, and provide proof of purchase, not too bad. Then they responded yes it is in Warranty, please send us the unit. No replacement unit sent to me, just send them my unit, live without coffee or (get another coffee maker) for however long it takes them to do something. The last response from them to clarify that took 10 days. So overall Customer service does respond but does not seem to care about communicating quickly or about you having to make do while you wait for them to address the issues with their defective product.

Absolutely love this coffee maker! There is a noticeable difference in the quality of this coffee and a standard drip maker or a Keurig, even when using just our everyday coffee (we like Community Coffee dark roast). There are just two of us in the house and it's nice to be able to make a small pot in the morning (enough for us to both have two cups) and I love that it's easy to make an excellent single cup that is so much better than a Keurig. I have also used it for hot tea (I did adjust for their recommended amount the second time) and I'm looking forward to making cold brew next Summer. 1 thing I will note is that the buttons around the dial are extremely sensitive and it's easy to accidentally touch one while you are adjusting time or brew settings. I read another review talking about setting a delay brew and that's what came to mind is that it would be very easy to hit descale accidentally. I would recommend setting the delay time before putting the grounds in. (I have ours start the same time every morning so once the time is set you just have to hit delay brew, it remembers the time).

Good: 1. Makes hot coffee, iced coffee, express cold brew, hot tea and iced tea 2. Love their are two individual filter baskets for either coffee or tea 3. Coffee strength and tea strength is pretty good Meh: 1. Descale this machine a TON ..you will notice the cup size dispense will start to go down until you descale. It does remind you to descale, but luckily i've used descaling liquids that quickly correct this problem. 2. Making a full carafe of coffee? Be careful as the underside of the lid will be covered in coffee grounds. Overall, this is probably the closest you will find to a good coffee/tea maker (hot/iced). It does consistently give you a nice hot cup of coffee/tea, or iced coffee or iced tea. I have really used this machine a TON on both sides ( coffee in the morning, iced tea in the evenings) If you are looking at this vs the Ninja...go with this one..the Ninja version consistently leaked. Value: Overall I would say this is an ok value...the price tends to go up and down...but if its 100 or below..grab it. Ease of Use: Pretty Simple to be honest.

Bought on sale for $199 and really enjoyed both the cold brew and hot coffee options. The dial is pretty easy to use for your selections. However, I received a pot that leaks from the rim and handle. When I tried to exchange the machine for another, I was told I couldn't. I had to return and buy again at full price. Customer support tried to offer a 12 cup pot for replacement (note this machine only holds 8 cups) that looked like something at a cheap diner. Who would pay this kind of money for a sleek quality machine to have a non matching pot which honestly wouldn't have even worked with the design and shape of the machine to begin with?? I'm hesitant to purchase again because I don't want to deal with a defective product especially since it's not worth the full price amount. How does it make sense to return for a full refund rather than let me exchange for the same price? Other cons with the machine are that is doesn't keep the pot warm once brewed for refills. I personally enjoy the ease and no mess option of paper filters cause I can just discard. This one I have to clean for each cup since others in the house may have their coffee 30 mins later and it wouldn't be hot or fresh.
