Men's Sport Casual Garrison 3-Hand Date Eco-Drive Leather Strap Watch, Arabic Markers, Stainless Steel, Field Watch

This is my third Citizen "Weekender" watch -- these watches offer a great value, handsome looks, and the versatility to pair equally well with a sports coat or a jean and tee shirt. The light powered charging works flawlessly, and the the watch keeps good time, to within a few seconds per month. It is easy to set, and with the filed watch design it is easy to read, even in low light. I like the fairly large size of the face, and don't notice the light weight when I wear it.

super watch ,Great everyday watch with a clean, classic field design. The Arabic numerals are easy to read, and the Eco-Drive technology is a huge plus—no battery changes needed. It keeps accurate time and feels durable enough for daily wear. The leather strap looks good, though it can feel a bit stiff at first. Water resistance is solid for normal use, and the overall size is comfortable on the wrist. A reliable, good-looking watch with excellent value for the price.

The case and crown are very nicely finished. The strap it ships with is also well made and well finished. The seconds hand lands precisely on the indices on the dial. All three hands are painted white and contrast well against the dial making the time easy to read. The dark navy blue has a nice matte metallic like finish. The numerals and indices are painted on, which is fine at this price point. They're crisp and easy to read. However, the choice to use luminous paint only on the hour and minute hands, but not on the seconds hand, nor anywhere on the dial is a bit odd. It's a flieger style dial, so it should have lume on all hands and the hour indices, or just leave it off entirely. The other issue is the date complication. In keeping with the flieger / field watch styling, Citizen chose to omit a cyclops and use a small date wheel and a tiny date window that's just big enough to frame the date, with almost no negative space on any side. Since this is an Eco-Drive watch which houses the solar cell within the dial, the result is a thick dial, so it casts shadows on the date indicator. This makes it very difficult to read the date, even head on. The watch would look better without the basically unusable date window. Those couple of criticisms aside, it's a great looking watch that merges classic German flieger styling with a more dressed up finish along with the accuracy and durability of modern Japanese solar quartz movement. It's a super versatile watch that can go from casual to formal with ease. At the current closeout prices it's a great value, but I wouldn't pay anywhere close to full retail for it.

Beautiful watch. I have a large wrist and the case size compliments me well. The simplistic elegant style of the watch is one that will never grow old. The eco drive powering it makes it all the more a value that will power the watch. I want to buy the green faced model as well.

Citizen quality, bought as gift for husband. Green face is a nice detail while still being versatile. Can be dressed up or down. Solar is the way to go when it comes to watches and can’t go wrong with citizen brand watches. Fits great and watch face is a great size for a men’s watch.

Lots of reviewers have said that the pictures don't do the watch justice and that is certainly the case for the reviewers' pictures. Here's a closeup of the blue dial version with a Bond NATO on my 6 3/4 inch wrist. For my taste the watch is a little big for a "field watch", especially on my wrist. It looks a lot more like a Flieger Type A flying watch, which certainly isn't a bad thing, especially for those who like their sports watches to command attention. This baby is readable from across the room and will doubtless attract interest and comments. If you like your watches to be subtle, you may want to look for something more discrete. Otherwise, the watch is impressive, with a second hand that hits the indices, 100m water resistance, screw down back, high contrast matt dial, Eco-drive, etc. I'm warming up to the size and for larger wrists and/or more flamboyant personalities, this watch should be perfect. It's time-keeping was also excellent at +5 sec/month. With a dozen timepieces in my regular rotation, a quartz movement is a must. I like to have the correct time and I learned my lesson about automatics when I literally wore out the crown threads on my Orient Mako over four years of resetting that silly watch every few days. If you don't care too much about the time, get an automatic; otherwise, a watch with a quartz movement is the way to go. Oh, if you (like me) were gnashing your teeth about the 21mm lug width, you may be pleased to know that all my 22mm straps work ok, which is a relief considering how many already own.

High quantity watch, love the blue face, no battery needed, high-quality leather band.

A solid 5-star watch. The combination of Eco-Drive and 10 bar water resistance is great.The look is more on the utility/field side than elegance side, but it is elegant enough that it will not look out of place in a suit-and-tie situation. I think this look, appropriate both for casual and formal occasions, makes it more universally usable than the elegant watches that would look odd with a casual outfit.I didn't think I would like the leather strap, I find bracelets more practical. But I dig the strap now. It's taking a bit of time to wear in, but after a couple of weeks it's already taking the shape that is comfortable to my wrist. It looks great, and I now realize it's nice to have a watch with a strap in my collection, for variety.I got the blue dial version, and it does not have any glare that some other customers are reporting. Looks like the glare might only be pertinent to the black dial variant. I really feel for the folks who prefer the black color. Personally, i find the blue really great. It's dark and understated (not a shiny sunray variety), but decidedly good looking. And then in the bright sunlight it will suddenly shine, and look beautiful a bit differently. Kudos to Citizen for finding this colorway.Great size. I wanted a large watch and that's what it is.What could be better:The date window is tiny, and the date wheel is sitting deep in it, pretty much impossible to read the date. Oh well.Given it's field character and the price category, I wish it had luminous hour markers. But only the hands are luminous.Anticipating that the strap will wear out with time, I looked into genuine Citizen replacement straps, and couldn't find this model. Also, I was originally thinking of replacing the strap with a bracelet, and I still think this might be my scenario in the future. So far it feels like the 21 mm lug width is very exotic, and not many options out there are available.And yeah, sapphire crystal would have been an improvement. But mineral crystal is not a deal breaker for me.With all of that said, I love this watch. I look at it and feel that I'm having a good time. Every pun is always intended. 5 stars.

I loved the dial and strap. I have a large collection of watches but this does get a lot of wrist time
