Mattel Games Blokus Duo 2-Player Strategy Board Game, Family Game for Kids & Adults with Black and White Pieces

I recently picked up a few block games to enjoy with my almost 7-year-old, and this one is a total winner! Not only is it super fun, but it’s also sneakily educational. It’s great for developing spatial awareness and imagination, and since two people can play, it’s perfect for some quality parent-kid time. The compact size makes it a great travel companion (road trip entertainment, anyone?), but fair warning: keep an eye on those blocks! A little storage pouch or box will be your best friend. The block quality is impressive for the price, and overall, it’s a fantastic find for families looking for engaging games for kids. Highly recommend—just be prepared for your little one to become a master builder!

Blokus Duo is a game created for just two players, opposed to the regular game blokus, which is for four players. As a avid fan of two player games, this one is nearly at the top of my list. It’s simplicity, speed of gameplay, and surprisingly deep strategy make it a great game to just pick up and play with just about anybody. Be aware that The game is competitive, and in order to win you have to ‘block’ your opponent. A poor sport may not Enjoy this game. I have not travelled with this game, but I do not think it would be a great travel game. The pieces don’t shift easily once played, but I imagine with bumps in a car holding it stable would prove difficult. Give it a try if you are a fan of the original blokus!

Great two player game. I had previously only played the larger 3-4 player color version, and glad they made this smaller version.

Friends introduced me to Blokus with a 4-player game. I later tried playing the original game with two people, and it didn't work well, so when I found the 2-person version, I had to buy it. Two-person play is more intense and competitive! But it is the same simple game with one or two rules. Blokus takes no time to learn, and how much thinking you put into it is up to you. A wonderful game for ages 7 and up, including seniors.

This game is sooo fun. We love to play the larger version but when there is only two players it makes more sense to play the duo. My only issue is that the board is so small that you run out of moves VERY fast. If you don't play the pieces exactly as they fit (which wouldn't be very fun because you could never change up your strategy) then you run out of moves way too often to make the game very interesting. They should have made the board a bit larger so you can play all or most of your pieces in a single game. EVERY time we have played we have NEVER gotten even close to using all the pieces before you run out of space, and it's not because the players are so good they block you from finding more available moves. The board it just too darn small. We can play down to 0-4 remaining pieces on the standard board, but this small one not-so-much. Honestly, I think it makes it a lot less fun. Maybe this version would be great for kiddos, but not for adults who want to play more than 10 minutes. I suggest getting the full size 3-4 player option if you want to have a productive game.

This is a FUN game...for 2 people

I’ve been playing this game with my nephews for 2 years now. The youngest nephew was probably 4 when we started and for the last year he’s been aggressively blocking my corners! I introduced “speed blokus” so no one spends too much time thinking about their turn, and they love the increased level of competition and playing tournament style. I love that it’s a fun game that is also teaching them strategy. It is small enough that you could easily travel with it, I’m just nervous about losing the pieces. We’re already using a tiny Lego to substitute for the lost “1” piece. I’ve gifted it to at least 3 different friends—it’s fun for kids AND adults. My SIL loves to challenge me as much as the nephews.

We have the regular Blokus We needed/wanted the two player Blokus Duo version We were so glad to find it here as it is VERY hard to find in stores where we live and we have kept our eyes out for it and still couldn’t find So we came to the site to find/look Of course we found it and it arrived in great packaging This is a great game Great strategic game like a more modernized and different version of checkers, chess This is a great gift or even to have as a classroom gift What you see in product image and what you read in description is what you will get

j'ai acheté ce jeux pour une grand mère qui aime beaucoup les jeux de société, la version noire et blanc était très importante pour mon choix car plus aisé pour mieux voir pour nos aînés. Le seul point noir pas de version française pour la règle du jeux, ce qui n'a pas été un problème car ce jeux je le connaissait déjà en version couleur.
