Go Bravely: Becoming the Woman You Were Created to Be

A page turner! I love Emily Wilson and her advice on YouTube helped me alot when I was younger. I needed this when I was a teenager for sure. But reading it now is reassuring. So far I’m only a few chapters in, but this book has exceeded my expectations. It also has several things that I need to hear now at age 24. So I’d say it’s good for all age groups. The chapters are short and easy to read so I am trying to take my time and take in the words and ponder. I might use a few chapters for a youth group.

Reading “Go Bravely” feels just like what Emily states in the intro - like two girls having a great conversation in a coffee shop together. I easily read the book in one sitting. It’s full of great advice, personal stories from Emily, and helpful reminders of how to live faith-filled lives in a culture that constantly tells us otherwise. This book would be a great gift for any girl entering high school or college, yet also serves well as a reminder to working young adult women (like myself, who can easily forget these truths). Go Bravely would be as a perfect book for a small reading groups/book clubs as Emily includes “Take Action” reflections at the end of each chapter. Emily Wilson, through “Go Bravely” as well as her YouTube videos and Instagram, is an inspiring role model and a refreshing voice of how to live authentic lives as women and daughters of God!

Emily Wilson Hussem absolutely nails it in this book. A beautiful combination of important topics laced with Scripture and examples from her own personal experiences results in a book that is a true must-read for any teen/college student/young woman. The chapters are short enough to get the point across (in an incredibly well-written way!) while not so long that they become boring. This book packs a punch! It poses thoughtful questions and points to contemplate and discuss throughout which is a beautiful way to let the content take hold. I used it to lead a study at my college, gave it to my teen sister for confirmation, and gave it to a friend for her birthday. You will not be disappointed in this purchase! And once you read it, you'll want to share it with all the women you know (I'd advise buying a few copies at a time).

I recently read this book with a group of girls my age the summer before we went off to college and it was SO impactful and relevant! Emily truly has a heart after the Lord and she shares her experiences, advice, wisdom, and love in such a well-written, empowering way. The core of this book, and of our lives, is that we are DAUGHTERS of GOD! This simple reality often goes over our heads but Emily helps you recognize and begin to live out this identity. Before I even finished the book, I was already recommending it to as many women as possible. Lately I find it hard to find time to pee without multi tasking, let alone sit down a read a book. At the beginning of May, I committed to reading this book one chapter a time each morning as a part of my morning meditation. It instantly became something I really looked forward to in the mornings, and something I wanted to read in one sitting. With the familiarness of a friend, Emily walks through some of the hardest aspects of being a young woman and somehow helps you to come out on the other end hopeful that you too can be brave. I can't recommend this book enough. It is a quick read, and would make a perfect graduation or new phase of life gift. Give it a read! You won't regret it.

I really liked this book! There were a few parts that I was unsure about and probably could of skipped. I tried to look at it as a point of advice instead of possible judging. It is a good book for any women, teenager, or young girl who is looking to find her faith or dig deeper into it.

Oh… my GOSH. THIS BOOK. In no other book have I seen such hope & faith combined with practical advice & food for thought. I really wish I read this EARLIER. This is such a rare book. I haven’t read ANY book like this. I felt like she was speaking right to me, as if I was sitting right in front of her chatting over a meal and having my mind blown and my life changed. She knows how to combine living the faith and a God centered life with the reality of what is happening in the hearts and minds of women. It’s truly amazing. I’ll be rereading it throughout my life because it’s just THAT impactful. If you’re thinking of getting it… You’ll be completely thankful and changed after reading this, no doubt. -Meghan Ashley

I found this book wholesome and a perfect way to give guidance to any early teen or preteen young lady and most other ages; I’m a grandmother of grown children and found myself wishing I’d found this when I was just starting out in life. This book could save a special young lady from some heartaches in life! I have given a number of copies and plan to give more. Keep some on hand for gifts; you’ll find yourself wanting them. I highly recommend!

Beautiful, real, raw and very encouraging. Some of the sections brought tears to my eyes. It's a great companion on one's journey to let God heal wounds in ones heart: the wounds that might be stopping you from living life to the fullest. Thank you Emily!
