Bought this to connect to my Xfinity gateway since that does not have a guest network and you cannot change the channels on a network to avoid interference. It was extremely easy to set up a guest network and get it going via the app. It even increased my speeds compared to the Xfinity Gateway alone by 50% or so. Works great!

Fast and easy install. Only problem being, I forgot to turn off the old router (used same network name) and confused my wireless devices. Easiest fix ever. Works well, no longer need PITA clunky wireless extenders

Overall, a good router. One of the only electronic things I ever bought that actually worked out of the box. Installation and setup was very easy with the Nighthawk app from my Android tablet. I have not had to access the router as administrator, it actually worked fine, first time. I have a 1 Gbit service and I get that speed up and down. Fantastice coverage, I get good service in my backyard, garage, basement and driveway. A couple of small things prevented 5 stars -- first, if my internet service winks out for some reason, the router will not auto-recover, must be powered down for hard reset and second, if internet is out for any reason, the router will not work within our household AND I cannot access as admin either by Nighthawk app or via the common "192.168.1.1" or Netgear's "routerlogin.net".

Bough this to replace my outdated/unsupported Netgear NightHawk Router. I’ve had issues in the past with other manufacturers routers connecting to my garage opener. Netgear worked with all of my devices. There are complaints here about having to use the app and they are correct if you want to do more advance settings like port forwarding. For that you just need to log into the router from a PC. It’s not like you would want to make those changes through an app or from your phone. The app is great when setting the router up. I just used the same WiFi name and password so everything would automatically connect. And you can turn off smart connect through the app if you want. Turning off Smart Connect allows you to separate 2.4 and 5mhz if you want. This router has advance settings if needed, but it’s a great “set it and for get it” router also. The range is awesome. Plus my connection speed has improved with 25 devices connected.

I have never despised an electronic device as much as I have this router. For some reason it doesn’t working with chromecast, but it does. It will work perfectly for weeks then absolutely lose its mind and just won’t work. It works fine for everything else. Usually. I am constantly rebooting it because one device or another just won’t connect or it decides to just not work and the I am left wondering whether it is the device or my internet provider. Spoiler. It is never the internet provider. When it works it is great and maybe it is user error but it even trying to use their tech support hasn’t gotten me a solution. They will circle back with you which is great except nothing they said actually works so I have given upz

This is a beast of a router! It seriously blew everything else I used for the last few decades right out of the water. It does require some basic knowledge to properly install. I have 40 years of experience with IT and even I had to scratch my head once or twice, but it was well worth it. My Samsung S25 Ultra goes to WiFi7 and simply downloads everything with maximum speed. My desktop is connected through Ethernet (cat 6e) and it has no issues. Beautiful! Control level is also great - you can use app to see who is connected at any given time. I use just basic functions, but you can control this easily from your phone.
