What age would fit xs?

I'd say maybe around 4 depending if they are skinny? My 5 yr old son typically wears XS (size 4, or even 5T) right now. He is 44 lbs. However, the XS in these seemed tight in the waist although the length was fine. I'm not sure why the waist was so small compared to the length, as they are pretty loose fitting otherwise. The Small fits him in the waist but are too long.

Size 7-8 is that a S M or Lg?

Would XL fit a woman size 7-8?

I would think so. But it is so easy to return things to Amazon if it doesn't fit.
