The best chopper I’ve owned. Super easy to use and reliable.

I use this way more often than my regular food processor because it's so quick to pull out and clean afterward. The capacity is a little small (like one large onion at a time or two tomatoes jammed in there) but it's plenty for most everyday chopping tasks. Works well, takes up little space, and was inexpensive. Glad I bought it. Not perfect, as some things chop easier and more evenly like onions as opposed to tomatoes, but doesn't bother me.

Love love love this handy gadget!! Works wonderful for making a salad!! We've even diced ham in it! Be careful really sharp blades but it works like a charm! I call it my lawn mower!!

I was using another brand and this is superior to that one. A quick alternative to manually chopping. Good quality.

I wanted something manual that I could use to chop small amounts of veggies without pulling out the small food processor every time. I like that this is just 3 or 4 pieces to clean, although my food processor is pretty much the same number of pieces too. We plan to keep this in the camper so we don’t have to rely on power for our meal prep.I did a quick test using a gala apple, which we prepped according to the directions (cut in 2 halves, no core). This didn’t work well and eventually the blades got stuck on an apple piece after about a dozen pulls of the string. Then I cut it one more time so it was in 4 quarters. That worked like a charm! After about 13 pulls, the pieces were pretty small, although not perfectly uniform.The blade IS VERY sharp - my finger can attest to that! :) I was trying to carefully hand clean and should have use a dish brush.What I don’t understand is how to take apart the lid so it’s in two pieces (Lid with Pull Ring Mechanism and the Locking Lid Base). The pamphlet inside the box says to refer to the cleaning instructions, but where are they?? I guess I will contact KitchenAid directly because I honestly do not know how to separate the lid so that it can dry thoroughly after each cleaning.Would I buy this over a small food processor? Maybe, since I feel that I have a little more control over the size of the pieces. It’s the same amount of cleaning (not bad at all though), and both save time in the kitchen. I do think this is a decent value for the size of this chopper though. Materials feel high quality, pull string feels strong and sturdy, and the grip on the bottom of the base works as advertised.Overall I’m satisfied, but I will report back after I finish testing some other foods like nuts and soft fruits and veggies (tomato, mango, etc.)
