My son(6) absolutely LOVES his gift from Santa! He LOVES trains and wrote a letter to Santa he wanted a train set. I got the blue tooth train which took a bit to connect but got it working just fine. I have a samsung galaxy. Probably going to order the remote so I can have my phone back lol. The voice command does work (I see some people couldn't get it to work) just click it and say "All aboard" and the train starts moving. You can tell it to stop, reverse, increase speed. Train stays on the track just fine so far. He's been playing with it for hours. I ordered extra tracks and a few Y tracks and they just came today so super excited to make a very large track! I wish I could turn down the volume on the train tho, as much as he's been playing with it, the noise is a bit annoying after a while lol. Quality is great. I had one very similar when I was his age and still have it and it still works, we usually use it under the Christmas tree. Anyway, the steam is a little meh but my son still loves it. Just a few drops of water and it makes a tiny vapor cloud. It's cute. I read the vapor is created by the vibration of the train so if you put the water in and it doesn't vapor, run the train a bit and it will eventually. Great buy! He's happy so I'm happy. I got the protection plan just incase.

Bought for a 4 yr old. After an easy set up, he has spent hours playing with it. No problems.

The train was fun for our 4yr old but now three Christmas seasons later the engine is dead. It will make two laps around and then won't move any longer and the light flicker out. New batteries didn't solve it and neither did calling Lionel's customer service. They said they are sold out of that engine and the motor can't be replaced in it. We bought a Lionel being name brand and thought we would get years of use out of it. We would only use it every few days for play and it never was continually running. We would only have it out for about three weeks each season so it wasn't being overused or abused in anyway. Pretty big bummer for our son around the holidays.

These are very charming, and I'm sure my great grandchild and will love them. I bought one secondhand, which they said they never used, but it didn't work and it took me a while to figure out that it was refurbished at the factory and they replace the engine wheels backwards. Once I fix that it worked fine. I was very pleased with it. It does take batteries, and I don't know how long they last, but I'm including a set of batteries Which I installed in the engine and in The remote control, and I will send an extra set of batteries as well. I know that my great grandchildren will love these! With the remote you can push a button and this is all the board and another button is a whistle and then they Also have controls to start and stop it, make it go faster, slower: everything works!

So far a perfect train for the Christmas tree. I have a 3.5 year old daughter, and she loves it. She can use the remote control to run the train and sounds with no problems. One of the train cars has removable open blocks as cargo. So you can remove the blocks and put little people in train car, or flip the blocks upside down and place items inside the blocks and put back on the cargo car. Set comes with enough track to make around the tree with no problem. But I ordered the extra straight track to be able to make track longer. So I made it the track just a little wider, and longer. Train seems to run great on the track, hasn’t come off the track yet for me on its own. My daughter likes to stop the train and add or take off items from the cargo car. So she has knocked of the track a couple times while doing that. Which is expected. But she can’t put the cars on the track herself. So there is a little finesse involved lining the wheels onto the track correctly. Only issue I have is when the train is stopped in the idle, it makes a constant sound. An idling train sound. But that is a minor annoyance that I have gotten used too. I think having the remote is a must!! My daughter loves being able to control the train. Stopping and going to load her little figurines, and to control the sounds of the train. So for me, the remote is a must have, and at least one train car where your kid can load and unload little cargo.

This train is excellent which is evidenced by all the positive reviews. The locomotive is very good quality- not cheap or lightweight. The front and back wheels on the various cars are independent of each other which allows them to follow the track better and not fall off. The detail on the train is also very good. The track is very easy to assemble and it holds together very well. We bought extra track to give it an additional curve. Also I like the features of the remote. It has a bell sound, a whistle sound and two conductor calls. One call is used when the train is stopped and another when it's running. The train goes forward and reverse smoothly. The train engine has a nice engine sound when standing still and another sound resembling a steam engine puffing when it moves. It also has a nice headlight and a smaller light in the engine compartment to the rear. We've had it running for about a week and run it for a few minutes each night. Not sure how long the batteries last but I already bought extra. This is a wonderful toy for a child to have running under the Christmas tree. My daughter puts mini dolls of Elmo and Big Bird in the cargo car and they go for a ride. It even makes me feel like a kid again. This is a great product that I expect will last a long time. I will give a follow up review after I've had it longer.

Beware. Piece of crap. I bought the 1st and it quit working after about 2 weeks of very minimal use. Too late to return it I was stupid enough to be a 2nd one the next year and it worked for about 2 months and I go to set it up this year and it goes around the track once and dies. All brand new batteries… another one going in the trash. I’ll get one from a local hobbie shop if there’s a next time

This is a wonderful train; cute design, well made to take lots of use, and not too complicated for children. Got this for grandkids ranging in ages from 2 1/2 to 12 years old, and they all love it. While not inexpensive, it is reasonable enough that I am comfortable letting little hands get experience using the controls and operating it without too much supervision (except for the two year old). Love that the containers are removable in the third car, and kids enjoy putting different toys in it to move around the track. The train comes with a good amount of track which is easy to put together, but I purchased extra as well. So far it runs well and generally stays on the track on my carpet. On the occasional derailing it is easy to reconnect....which usually happens when the kids get too excited taking things in and out of the boxcar. I am very happy with this purchase. When the children get older I may get an electric train, but so far this fits the bill!

Llego en muy malas condiciones, también dos rieles estaban rotos.

Muy buen producto, cubre las expectativas, excelente tamaño, ideal para el árbol de navidad, el único pero que le podría sería que tiene sonido constante de locomotora y no hay forma de bajar el volumen del sonido o silenciarlo, fuera de eso me gusto mucho...

El producto como tal está muy bien hecho; con calidad. Tanto el diseño como los materiales, me gustaron mucho. La calificación es de 1 estrella, porque faltaron las 8 piezas rectas de la vía. Uno espera bien emocionado poder disfrutar de lo que compra, tal y como lo espera, y lo compra... Peor aún cuando es un regalo.
