Is this ok to use on a short beard and does it have a good hold?

I started using it when my beard was around 1 inch long. It held the straglers at bay for me. Make sure you use a wide tooth comb to get a good penetrative and the a fine tooth comb or boar bristle brush after application to smooth everything how you want it.
