A digestive and great for an upset stomach. It is very much an acquired taste, not for the faint hearted.

Lovely taste and soothing digestif effect
I first had this on a business trip to Copenhagen. It was recommended to me by a lovely Dutch lady shop assistant at the airport. I bought it and it's now my goto brand of Dutch bitters. I love the taste, although most of my family do not, and it is so good as a digestif, soothing the stomach after over-eating. I drank the whole bottle over 2 weeks during the usual over-indulgence over the Christmas holidays.

Not for everyone
With it's intense rich and bitter flavour this is not the drink for everyone, but for a little dram after a working day or as accompaniment to a dry pilzener type beer there is nothing better. I am so happy to have found a way to buy it here in the UK.

Husbands favorite medicine
Arrived very quick , well packed. This is my husband favorite medicine , he was first given this in Denmark for sea sickness and now has it when he's off it , with a cold etc. He swears by it , I think it's taste like cough mixture, but that just me

Disappointed with purchase of Gammel Dansk
I'm afraid to say this is not the Gammel Dansk we recognise - more like Gammel Dansk Lite. Compared to the traditional drink this one lacks depth of flavour and predominantly liquorice. It should have a balance of herbal and spice flavours. The colour is also lighter than the Gammel Dansk we have tasted on many occasions thru the years. Has the recipe changed or, is this a different product aimed at the British market?? Don't buy if you're a purist seeking the original product. Disappointed : (
