Battery concerns
I've made 3 trips totalling 17 miles and already noticing the battery life running out faster. It concerns me for longevity of the scooter usage. Other than that I like it.

Two Week Review: The Best Budget Scooter (Student Edition)
My Experience: I go to a college in Los Angeles where there are TONS of hills, and it takes at least 10-20 minutes of walking to get to class from the dorms. Let me just say that the KQI1 Pro is awesome for commuting back and forth, and it completely destroys the hassle of having to walk so far just to get great food on campus. Pros: The scooter is insanely durable; it is not cheap material. On top of that, the battery life is great! It lasts for everything I need to do throughout the day, especially when I am always out and about on campus. The price for this scooter is also generally crazy. I bought this scooter for $250, and somehow, it was actually falsely advertised in a GREAT way. NIU silently upgraded this scooter to have a speedometer, specifically with those manufactured most likely after 2023! Most outdated reviews of this scooter have harsh and hateful experiences, but NIU seriously outperformed quality control issues. Take this in mind when you debate over choosing NIU or Segway! Cons: The only con of this scooter is that it has tube tires, meaning it is generally more vulnerable to getting flats than those with tubeless tires. Just ensure you take care of your scooter, don't go anywhere insane, and buy yourself a great pump like the Xiaomi S1/S2. Lastly, depending on your weight, this scooter may or may not handle hills well. I weigh about 110 pounds and generally carry a 20-pound backpack full of my gear (I am a computer science major); I roughly get 8-10 mph on a very steep incline but sometimes as little as 3-4 mph. The speed limit of the scooter could use some work, but nonetheless, unbeatable for the price. Verdict: If you're a (somewhat broke) college student like me, and you're looking for a great scooter to ride your campus around safely, this is the scooter for you! I highly recommend NIU products for their amazing build quality and budget prices. This scooter DOES come with an app that allows you to lock and customize your riding experience! The handlebars have more than enough space to fit accessories like a phone holder or a small bag. Almost everything about this scooter is perfect, and I have no hesitance in recommending it to you.

Lots of fun
The NIU KQi1 Pro electric scooter is so much fun. This is my first electric scooter, although I have ridden on others. This scooter looks great and is well made. It was easy to set up as it came preassembled other than the attaching the handlebar. It took about 15 minutes to set up and get it ready to ride. It came with clear instructions and an app which is easy to set up and use. First of all, you need to download the app and set it up. My first test ride was before I downloaded the app, and I was disappointed as it seemed very slow. Once I downloaded the app, however, it unlocked its capability, and the scooter became much faster and a lot more fun. The app also has an anti-theft mode with will lock the scooter so someone can't just ride it away. In the locked mode the display panel will blink red if you try to turn it on, and the wheels are actually locked so someone can't just wheel it away either, they will have to carry it. Other than that, the app has some tracking info on distance and speed and also displays battery life and how many miles left on the battery, as well as personal preference mode setups. This scooter is simple to operate and easy to ride. It's not super-fast but has decent speed and quick acceleration. It's highly maneuverable, the brake works well, and the display is easy to read. It has pneumatic tires so can go over lots of different surfaces. It has a light in front that you can turn on when needed in low light conditions, as well as a taillight for safety. Also has a kickstand for when you get off and park it. One of my favorite features is that you can fold it and lock it so you can pick it up and carry it easily or put it in a car or store in a little space. Overall, this is just a fun scooter to ride, and I am very impressed and completely satisfied with it so far. The price seems reasonable for what it is and in comparison to other electric scooters on the market. I highly recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale as I have seen the price on this move quite a bit. For around $400 it's a great deal.

Short travel fun
This electric scooter for adults is awesome for short travel fun. It came already assembled and all I had to do was charge it and download the app. Once fully charged, I was able to quickly and easily register my information through the app to get started. Comes with two tools that are needed for the tires. Tires are good for what surfaces. Rides smooth. All lights are bright and functioning. Comes with a cute, little ding ding Bell on the handle. Throttle toggle is sensitive. Break on the other handle is standard and functions well. States power at 2500 and states one can go almost 16 MI on the full battery charge. After using this electric scooter for about a month, I can conclude that the speed at full charge is about 13 miles an hour and is suitable for about 10 miles traveling distance. After that power weekends and you start to decrease speed. I would recommend this electric scooter only for short distance fun and short distance traveling. I work less than a mile away so going back and forth on this electric scooter is well enough. Sturdy structure and wide foot stand. Foot base has grooves for slip resistance. Would not recommend in rainy conditions unless properly covered. The turning is glitchy. You have to become used to the stability of its turning radius. One slight move and you can move too quickly.

Great value.
Right now, you can get this for $375 with a coupon, and that's a steal. My other scooter is a Hiboy S2R Plus, which retails for $200 more than the NIU, but also has a big coupon discount currently. As the Hiboy is the only other scooter I've used, much of my comparison will be against that scooter. I got this scooter so that my wife can join me on my scooter rides. The unit assembles in about 5 minutes, and once charged, you're ready to go. I took it out for it's maiden voyage, and was impressed by the smoothness of the ride. The pneumatic tires provide a softer ride than my solid-tire Hiboy. The tradeoff, of course, is that you must monitor air pressure and eventually replace popped tubes. I'm 6'2", and the height of this scooter was great for me, as was the wider deck to keep my size 12.5 feet in place. Unfortunately, the bigger size is a bit of a problem for my 4'9" wife. She can ride the scooter, but the handlebars are a bit high. That said, she can zip along a lot faster, as she weighs 105 lbs vs. my 205 lb dad bod. Though I am near the top of the weight capacity, the scooter was not sluggish at all, even when going up small hills. I have not used the app extensively, but I do find it useful, and it was absolutely no effort to install and set up, which was nice. My daily scooter rides are usually only 3 or 4 miles, so I don't know if the advertised range is achievable, as I charge the scooters after each ride. If you're looking for an entry into e-scooters, this would definitely be a solid pick. It's easy to set up and operate, rides and handles well, and is priced right.

Insanely solid scooter
Range and speed isn't crazy, but gets you where you need to go. Build quality is amazing.

PLEASE BEWARE!!!!
This is EASILY the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced! I was thrilled to have ordered this as a gift for father's day..over a MONTH ago... only to have it arrive with no parts to put it together and no charger. They were quick to respond with my next steps via Emil however this led to roughly 4 calls & 7 emails back and forth. Every email and call reasuring me that they were investigating and finally three days ago..1 day before the 30 day return window was to expire..they told me in a call they had sent the missing parts out via UPS just 3 hrs before and provided a tracking number. This gave me much relief that I hadn't lost my 500 pluss dollars. However now UPS now says they have not even recieved the package that all NIU has done has created a lable but never handed over the package. I called customer NIU support to have them tell me ONCE AGAIN they will investigate and to please give them 5 days to find out! I have discovered through Google reviews while the product is rated well the customer service is the absolute worst! This is clearly something they do regularly from what I am now finding out. I expect in 5 days I will have to reach out to them myself only to have them repeat this same damn process again. BEYOND DISGUSTED! I would rate lower if it was possible. NIU fix this! !!!!UPDATE!!!! Finally recieved a package that STILL does not include the parts that were missing. STILL no power cord to charge, no extension bar and more. HOW can a company drop the ball at every single step?!!! Going on a month and a half with no parts. My 6 year old gives more efficient and reliable support at her lemonade stand. SEND MY PARTS!!!

Amazing little scooter
I got this for a discount. And tbh, for 300$, this scooter is an amazing deal. Please be careful with the wheels tho as replacing them can be a pain.

Describe the truth. The tires have tubes and there are not tubeless.
Good scooter but lying when describing the tires are tubeless.

Good build quality. But that's it!...
The build is good but it's very slow to accelerate and get to top speed. This is not an adult scooter at all. Meant for teens and my teen mentioned that sometimes while he is riding the cruise control engages even though I've checked the app and it is disengaged almost causing him to fall off a few times. Also not sure why the Bluetooth symbol is constantly flashing whether my phone Bluetooth is on or off. It will not turn off. Everytime we get home the tires are below 28 psi even though I inflate to 40 psi everytime we go out. Not sure why they keep losing air or if this is a common thing with e scooters. It has a very nice display which does not display speed something I found to be very strange. Why have a display that only blinks blue, green, red, orange and not have a speedometer. Not what I expected from a company who is supposed to be a leader in this industry even at this price point. Disappointed in this scooter.
