The only bourbon it makes any sense to buy in the UK
In a line: Stop reading and get it Being shipped across the Atlantic and all, Bourbon in the UK is a lot more expensive than over in the states As such we typically have to settle for the standard fare of Jack Daniels, Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Woodford and the like. All sitting at around £25 give or take a fiver. All perfectly fine drinkers, Maker's Mark being a favourite of mine. But to an American these are the low price, low proof basic entries mostly used for mixers or cocktails Eagle Rare is the glaring exception - this is a great sipping whiskey but somehow priced in line with the average stuff you'll find sitting on the supermarket shelves So much so that Americans over the last few years have been weathering a bourbon craze that has made Eagle Rare a hard-to-find commodity and when they do get it they're paying a notable markup But for whatever reason, the powers that be have ordained that exact same super desirable whiskey to be available to the British public at an extremely reasonable £30-35 If you're looking to get into Bourbon, stop looking and just get this. Get a bottle of Jim Beam to compare it against if you must, even someone who has no idea what they're looking for will instantly be able to understand just how superior ER is I've spent a lot of money on Bourbon over the last couple of years, and I've found some corkers, but most at a price that just isn't worth paying over here, and none at a price as good as Eagle Rare If there is ever a time in my life where I don't have a bottle of this sitting in the cellar somewhere then I have failed.

Treat yourself
This is nectar. Smooth and full of flavour, it is a rare treat that is hard to find in parts of the USA, due to popularity. Made by Buffalo Trace, it has the same flavour profile as the self-named Buffalo Trace bourbon. It is just that it is more rounded, smooth and tasty (and a little stronger). It's about twice the price of BT, but is it worth it? Well it isn't twice as good, but it is well worth the price asked. Which only goes to show what value BT is. Try Buffalo Trace first, if you are unsure. It will give you an idea of the flavour to expect, at nearly half the price. There is room for both though. Keep this for a treat and BT as a staple.

EXCELLENT IN OLD FASHIONED COCKTAILS.
Eagle Rare really enhances a well-made Old Fashioned cocktail. Fabulous choice for cocktails of all kind that require a deep Bourbon influence. Significantly nicer taste than Wild Turkey 101, or Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.

Really Nice Bourbon
Eagle Rare is a fantastic bourbon that most people will probably like. This bourbon has a strong taste with the ten years added to this specific bourbon. Which is great! The flavour of this bourbon, however, is hard to decide on due to how complex and *not* satisfying it can be. Now, the flavour is nice. But it doesn't go down as smoothly if you compare it to Four Roses or even Woodford Reserve. I do think it's unfair to compare bourbons against one another, so I will conclude with this final thought. The flavour is sweet, fruity, slight hint of toffee as an after taste and oak. I love it, but my only disappointment with it is that the flavour is quick, strong, delicious BUT doesn't last long on the tongue. Which is my only gripe. But don't let that persuade you otherwise, if you're new to bourbons then this is a good starting point. So with that said, this is more than worth the price. If you want a really nice bourbon, whether if you're starting out or a long time whisky drinker then I totally recommend it. You will not be disappointed by the flavours that this bourbon offers. Lastly, the presentation is fantastic. Such a beautiful bottle with a nice design. My only dislike is the fancy wrapping around the lid of the bottle and was quite difficult to peel off from my own personal experience. Other than that, great drink. Totally worth it.

Best bourbon under £60
It's a bold claim but (without sounding like an alcoholic which I'm not) I've drunk a fair amount of bourbon. This is in my opinion the best one under £60. I'd actually go as far as to say it's nicer than its £180 18-year old big brother! It is nice in cocktails but feels a waste if I'm honest so this is a 'sipper' only in my household. My normal human nose and taste buds can't really pick out massive tasting notes, although there is a hint of caramel and vanilla in there I'm sure.... It's really smooth.... like the way you wish your wife's legs were. It's not harsh with a bitter aftertaste just how you wish your wife was in general.... And best of all, drink enough and it makes you forget about your wife altogether.

A great intro bourbon for those looking to get into tasting it
Eagle Rare is basically a starter bourbon intgo the world of better tasting bourbons. It's got a great sweet taste, it goes down smoothly and it's a great price. It's still one of my favourites.

If you like bourbon this is the one
This normally comes on a deal once or twice a year, it's just been £23.50 on cyber Monday which is the lowest it's been for years. I buy in bulk when the offers on. Anyway, for me personally, based on taste I think this sits in the following company: Weller special reserve (now hyped up to £60 a bottle), Blantons special reserve, now discontinued but used to be able to get it for £40 now £100+ at auction, Elijah 12 again discontinued but once available at £25 from M&S now £60-70 at auction. I'm amazed Eagle Rare still has the 10YO age statement and hasn't turned NAS...yet. You're getting quality aged bourbon whiskey at a great price. You'd have to spend a lot more than £30 to get a better bourbon than Eagle Rare. That being said if you just mix your whisky with cola, it's probably not worth the extra few quid over a JD or makers mark, it doesn't really stand up tall in the glass to get any real benefit.

Better value than many single malts
I bought it because I saw mention that the better Bourbons ranked alongside some of there more expensive malts and this one in particular proved the point. I am glad I did as I rank it alongside many of the mid range single malts that cost twice the price when checked for complexity and depth of taste and for sheer pleasure of drinking.

A good burbon
I do enjoy Eagle Rare, it's a lovely burbon. It's rich in flavour, sweet but not sickly, beautiful caramel notes, wood notes, vanilla and more. For me this works best with a few drops of water allowing the flavours to come to the fore. Very very nice.
