Good starter forge and easy to use once you seal the Kaowool with rigidizer.
This was my first try at using a forge and it was easy to setup and the instructions for seasoning the crucible were straightforward and it doesn’t make as much noise as some reviews said so I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it. The only thing I would recommend is to spray the Kaowool with rigidizer to keep the ceramic fibers from blowing around and possible inhalation of these fibers which is not good for you. Mr Volcano is the one I used and it is on Amazon. It takes about 5 minutes to spray 1/2 of the bottle which you dilute with water. So your spraying 16 oz of the diluted solution on every part of the wool both furnace and lid entail it is all used up and it will all be a pink color. I left outside for a few days to dry before the initial setup and use. The first time you use it the pink color will turn white. Make sure you assemble all the parts when you receive the forge in case something is missing or broken. Have fun with your new forge!
