2nd HDD SSD Hard Drive Optical Bay Caddy Frame for Dell Latitude E6400 E6500 E6410 E6510 Precision M2400 M4400 M4500 Modular Bay

I use this for my work I will often stick a customers HDD in it and scan it with malware spyware software or run dskchk this way as my machine generally is light years faster than the customers! Saves me time on this and on data transfers...also use it to boot Ubuntu separately keeping my win10 boot drive intact without any boot loader or extra partitions...I leave the screw out so I can get it in and out easy! The clever push lever mechanism keeps it tight enough for quick work! Also a keep the screws out of the Sata bay so I can swap another HDD in there if I need to have a msata drive installed with a backup of my win10 drive

This drive adapter did not fit my Dell laptop. I had to remove some parts from another unit to make this one fit. Also it comes with no directions and I had to figure out how to secure the HD in the adapter. One screw to secure the HD was to long and I had to remove it. Once I made the modifications to the case it slid right in. I gave the hard drive a letter and Windows recognized it. There was small piece of paper in the box, but it was barely readable and contained no useful information. Even the web sites it suggest to visit was not there. At least for a Dell laptop I would not recommend this product. Had I not had some spare part lying around this unit would have been junk and I would have returned it.

This fit my e6410 perfectly, with the same retractable push/pull tab as the OEM optical drive, and it allowed me to use the original screw to secure it too. Connection is fast even with a simple 5400rpm hdd as a dedicated media drive.

The installation instructions are short and not very helpful. There is a plastic part about 2 1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch wide which goes at the bottom of the SSD that was not shipped. This part helps hold the SSD in place. No sure how I go about getting the missing part. For now, the SSD appears to be staying in place.
