Switch from Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Happy with the upgrade.
โญโญโญโญโญ Fantastic Upgrade โ Perfect Mix of Athlete + Everyday Watch Iโm absolutely loving this Garmin Fenix 8 (51mm AMOLED). The screen is gorgeousโbright, sharp, and way easier to read than my Epix Gen 2 was. Battery life is amazing too. Even with the always-on AMOLED, workouts, notifications, and daily use, it just keeps going. The watch itself looks manly, beefy, athletic, and modern without being over the top. Iโm really happy I chose the natural titanium, and the little splash of orange on the sensor cover looks great. I used to wear an Apple Watch Ultra and the color scheme is similar, but this feels much more like a true adventure/training watch rather than a tiny phone on my wrist. Thatโs actually the biggest shift for me: I realized I donโt want the best โsmartwatchโ on my wrist. I just want enough smart features to see notifications and decide if I need to pull out my phone. The Fenix 8 nails that balance. The flashlight is one of my favorite featuresโitโs incredibly useful and always right there. I end up using it more than I expected, whether running in the dark or grabbing something around the house. As for workouts, Iโve started programming them ahead of time, and itโs made training so much smoother. Garmin gives me great stats and a clearer picture of my fitness. This has quickly become my favorite part of using the watch. I grabbed this one because of the $250 discount, and Iโm glad I didnโt go for the Pro versionโI donโt need LTE or satellite since my phone already covers that. This model still has Siri support, Garmin voice command, and actual speakers, which made me happy I didnโt go with a lower model like the Fenix 8e. The new interface is nice. It takes a few more clicks to start a workout, but I like how I can stage things better before I begin. The included band honestly surprised meโitโs stretchy and comfortable, super easy to tighten for workouts or loosen as my wrist changes during the day. And despite the larger size, I havenโt found it too heavy at all. Going with titanium was definitely the right call. Overall, this is the perfect blend of rugged, modern, and functional. Exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended. For a couple of years I have been switching between Apple Watch Ultra and Garmin watches, I have landed here with only $200 more than the Ultra and a much better fitness watch, which is what I currently value more than a better smart watch. I found myself not using the apps much on the Apple Watch and I like the all inclusive fitness tracking of the Garmin.

Outstanding Performance and Incredible Battery Life!
I couldn't be happier with my Garmin fฤnixยฎ 8 โ 47 mm, AMOLED! This watch is an absolute powerhouse, delivering exceptional performance, cutting-edge features, and remarkable durability. One of the standout aspects is the battery life. By customizing the watch face and optimizing the settings, I've been able to achieve 12+ days of battery life on a single charge, even with daily activity tracking and notifications enabled. This is a game-changer for someone like me who is always on the move and doesnโt want to worry about frequent charging. I specifically customized the watch face to have a simple black background, with date, battery meter, and heart rate showing. I've also turned always on display set to off. I really love the build quality, it's rugged yet stylish, making it perfect for both outdoor adventures and everyday wear. I complete in full distance Ironman's, and this watch excels at fitness training, with an incredible range of metrics for running, cycling, and swimming. The GPS accuracy is spot-on, and the health monitoring features like heart rate, VO2 max, and sleep tracking help me train to my peak. If you're looking for a premium smartwatch that delivers long-lasting battery life without compromising on features, the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro is a no-brainer. Highly recommended! ๐๐๐

Garmin Fenix 8 โ A Premium Watch That Delivers on All Fronts
Iโve been using the Garmin Fenix 8 for several weeks now, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box, the screen quality stands out โ itโs bright, crisp, and incredibly easy to read in all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight. Whether Iโm navigating maps, checking metrics mid-run, or reviewing data post-ride, the display never lets me down. Battery life is another standout feature. Even with GPS, continuous heart rate monitoring, and smart notifications enabled, Iโm getting days โ not hours โ of use. For multi-day adventures or back-to-back workouts, this kind of reliability is a game-changer. The range and accuracy of the sensors are also impressive. GPS locks in quickly and tracks with precision. Heart rate, pulse ox, barometric altimeter, and temperature sensors all work seamlessly and consistently deliver accurate data that I can trust โ essential for training and racing. Overall, the Fenix 8 is a rock-solid tool for anyone serious about fitness, adventure, or performance tracking. Itโs rugged, smart, and loaded with features that justify every dollar. Highly recommend.

Great watch! Now just need garmin to work with peloton
Upgraded from a fenix 5 that was showing it's age. The amoled display is bright, snappy and gorgeous. The menu takes some getting used to, but it's much faster and easier once I figured it out. I wanted sapphire since my 5 picked up a few scratches over the years. I'm not sure why there's so much hate on the 8. The only issues I've read about are how it shut down in earlier patches when submerged in very cold water. Definitely an issue, but seems to be corrected. My old watch was steel. Titanium is so much lighter. It feels less substantial, which makes my mind assume it's less robust, but that's just a mental thing. The lighter weight is less pressure on my wrist. The built-in flashlight is super handy. Really enjoy having that. Having new activities available is also very nice. Battery life with the amoled screen is going to take more experience for me to figure out. I did a 3 hour hike and it drained 20% of my battery. The screen was on the whole time with altitude, compass, time and distance going. That alone has me worried since I do things that need much longer life than that. This was a concern abandoning the MIPS version, but the screen is so much better overall. I will update after some longer usages and whether or not I can disable always on mode during an activity. Screen remains visible in bright sun, something I was worried about since MIPS screens are great in bright sun and I dont want to be fighting glare on an led screen. I do wish Garmin and peloton worked together actively. Not sure why they don't but it's a frustration for a best in class fitness watch. You can have the watch broadcast heart rate to the bike, but the bike doesn't truly connect to share watts, speed, resistance, etc. It means I can't get VO2 info or any other true stress feedback via Connect from those sessions. Lastly there's major sticker shock on everything and this was no exception. I managed to get it a little under retail, but my fenix 5 was like $500 and that felt splurgy. $1100 is just nuts.

Great watch but pricey
The Fenix 8 is an excellent watch, but Garminโs pricing is getting a bit out of hand. I really like the new UI compared to the older versions. Feels more intuitive and more refined in all the right ways. The 47mm amoled version is perfect for my 7โ wrist. I tried the 51mm and it felt too bulky. The battery life of the 47mm amoled version is more than adequate for my needs. The amoled version is also noticeably thinner than the solar version. The Forerunner 970 is just about the same watch as the 47mm Fenix for several hundred less, but I much prefer the heftier build quality and aesthetics of the Fenix line. I crack up at some of these reviews complaining about the durability. Yes, the watch will probably scratch if you bump it against concrete or crash with it on your bike. Duh! Itโs a durable watch, but donโt be unreasonable with your expectations. I recommend this watch if you can swallow the price tag.

Good watch but connectivity problems.
Its a great fitness tracker but the connectivity to the phone is so buggy. I've had issues where after charging it won't connect to my phone anymore. The first time it happened I had to factory reset the watch as well as remove it from my Garmin connect app and install an earlier version of the app. Now this second time around I can't remove it from the app. It keeps saying No internet connection even though I'm connected. Already tried restarting my phone as well as re entering the wifi info. Still nothing. And removing it from the account seems to be necessary in order to put the watch back into pairing mode. There is no other easy way to put into pairing mode.

Fantastic Watch โ Truly a Premium Upgrade
The fฤnixยฎ 8 (51 mm, AMOLED, Sapphire) is an incredible all-around smartwatch. It delivers outstanding performance not only for running and movement-based activities, but also for sleep tracking and strength training. The strength-training features are especially impressive โ the watch automatically detects most exercises and logs them accurately, and you can easily adjust weights or correct any misidentified movements afterward in Garmin Connect. The 51 mm size is on the larger side, so it may feel big on a smaller wrist, and itโs noticeably larger than an Apple Watch Ultra. That said, the screen clarity and build quality more than justify the real estate. Itโs definitely a premium-priced device, but if youโre considering an upgrade, this is absolutely worth it โ especially if you can catch it on sale.

Love this watch, minus a few annoyances
Thereโs so much to say about this watch. This watch is good looking and rugged, and as a health and fitness tracker itโs great. Probably better than all the others Iโve tried including AW ultra, galaxy watch, and the pixel watch 4. I have a huge wish list for things I wish it did more of as someone who is active and into health, but doesnโt run much. Battery life is fantastic. I donโt worry about getting the most out of it keeping the always on display on and the screen at max brightness and settings to get the most out of the watch and I still get 12 days battery out of it. The screen can be a bit annoying. I have difficulty seeing dim screens compared to other people I know and the auto dimming feature on this watch is overkill, with no way to disable it. I love the fit and itโs very comfortable to wear with the right band. Sleep tracking is maybe one of the more annoying features of this watch. While it does a decent job, it makes you set sleep times and automatically throws it into sleep mode and auto takes it out so if youโre not consistent on your times youโll go to look at your watch and youโll have to take it out of sleep focus to use it, or maybe wake up to a lit screen in your face. Also, you canโt get up in the middle of the night to pee without garmin thinking youโre done sleeping for the night. Itโll stop counting it as sleep. If you take a nap you have to tell it youโre taking a nap to count it and even when you do, it doesnโt count it as sleep like some brands do like Oura. You can edit your times, itโll improve your score, but will not give true sleep metrics for the edited times. More of a wish than a complaint is garmin doesnโt have a family connecting feature like apple does. Me and my wife love comparing our data but if you want to be able to make sure a loved one isnโt having any concerning problems or that you might need to check in on them this isnโt the best solution. But I get this, this is marketed for athletes, not general wellness. Overall compared to the biggest options out there this is a great watch. It all just depends on whatโs important to you.

Get the Best Forget the Rest
Awesome Sports watch, does just about everything you need in an activity tracking watch. Upgraded from a Fenix 7X Pro Solar Sapphire 51mm and was after the brighter Amoled screen and was well worth it! A bit pricey but you get what you pay for and love the new features upgraded from the 7x Pro

Great watch
Love it.... I have used samsung ultra and apple ultra3 they are great bit get a bit hard to read due to smaller screen....although the apple ultra3 is a watch u can wear all day anywhere is is thinner... I got the 51mm but just for fitness....its big...not too bad diameter for big wrists but its thickish....im used to garmin mudmaster is you are not used to big you may find it clunky... All around great watch enjoy
