Well made
I have both the vest and the backpack from GORUCK.I walk with the vest and do yardwork wearing the backpack.I wish they included two pockets or a seperator in the single existing pocket so you aren't limited to one plate. A combination of a 10 and a 5 would be a nice option instead of only a single 10 or a single 20. They don't state anywhere that I can find that you can put two plates together in the plate sleeve but I see no reason why you couldn't. I've tried it and two plates do fit without compromising the closure flap.I'd suggest getting the double-curved plates from Rogue Fitness instead of the flat plates from GORUCK.

Call me indestructible!
This is a no frills plate carrier. It came with a sternum strap. The sternum strap adjusts to hold the shoulder straps from sliding off the shoulders. It is also adjustable to distance from the neck. Adjusting the distance from the neck is a challenge because of the way in which the sternum strap connects to the shoulder straps. The straps are well padded which helps with comfort. The load rides higher on the shoulders also. It is a nearly indestructible piece of gear, ruggedly made. This Rucker holds the shorter size plated; it does not appear to accommodate the longer size 30 lbs plate. I’d call it a great value for the money!

Great weight balance, but shoulder straps rub uncomfortably
I bought this weighted vest to level up my walks and workouts, and while the build is solid and the weight is well-distributed, I ran into one major comfort issue. When it arrived, it looked tough and well-made—exactly what you’d expect from Go Ruck. The materials feel durable, and the weight plates slide in easily. I was impressed with how evenly the weight sat across my upper body. It didn’t strain my neck or shoulders, which is something I’ve dealt with in other vests. But after about 10–15 minutes of movement, the shoulder straps started rubbing against my inner armpit area, and it got really uncomfortable—especially on bare skin or with a short-sleeve shirt. It feels like the straps are just a little too wide or not shaped to contour away from that sensitive area.✅ What I like:Excellent weight distribution—no neck pressureSturdy and rugged buildAdjustable fit for different body types⚠️ What could be better:Shoulder straps chafe the inner arm area during movementPadding could be softer or better contoured for comfortWould I buy it again or recommend it? Maybe—with a caveat. If you plan to wear it over long sleeves or just for short sessions, it could work. But for longer use or warmer weather, it might not be the most comfortable.Overall, the Go Ruck vest nails the function and build quality, but misses on comfort in the shoulder design—especially for extended wear.

Under weight staps cut into the ribs
Looks like the plate carrier is well made, but it’s very inconvenient. It supposed to be positioned high, but when it is loaded with the weight the carrier is sitting low in the back. If the straps are tightened up it sits high, as it should, but then the straps cut into the ribs on the sides. It happens because the carrier is narrow, meaning the straps are also positioned narrow and under the weight they painfully cut into the ribs. I’m 32 in waist and it was painful after adjusting the straps, I can’t imagine how bigger guys use this carrier. It’s not cheap, and for $115 plus tax I expected a better designed product.
