These coin holders were great for our trip to Japan. No fumbling around for the right change at check out. Even with just 1 coin in the slot they stay secure in the holder.

I brought these on a recent trip to Japan. They do what they advertise to do admirably. After 1 day it was quite frankly easier just to have the coins in my pocket. It doesn't take too long to identify the appropriate coins quickly from a pile of change. Even though the sizes are similar, 50 / 5 yen coins have holes in them, and the 10 is a different color. 500s are bi-color and larger. You'll use coins all the time in the ubiquitous vending machines. So although this coin holder is well-made and handy, it's honestly not that useful and you'll not want to spend the time loading it up. Also you'll end up with way more coins (especially 100s) than fit in the holder.

Keeps my coins organized. Easy to get the correct change faster. Used in Japan no problem. Bonus have two of them!

Really useful , makez it easy for paying

My friend and I went to Japan and I bought these on a whim. OMG we were so glad to have them!! We spent a week in Kyoto and used the fantastic city buses to go almost everywhere. Without our organised coin holders we would have been flustered looking for the right coins - these little holders are labelled with the denominations so you can quickly pluck out the amount you need. It was also perfect for laundry....every Japanese hotel we stayed in had washing machines and tumble driers. All but one was coin operated. I really expected Japan to be cashless but was surprised at how much cash we needed to use. A worthwhile investment.
