AMOSIJOY Canister Filter, Ultra-Quiet External Aquarium Filter with Free Media for Large Fish Tanks and Aquariums

Literally night and day difference! Before getting this filter I only had 2 sponge filters for my 55 gallon aquarium, the water was really really cloudy after adding fish and letting it sit for or week or so. The cloudiness would just not go away, I tried adding water clarifier but that didn’t do anything. But after buying the extra large filter it cleared up with in two days. Setting up and starting was super easy to do ! I did have a user error where I forgot to turn on the inner light so it wasn’t working at its full capacity but after that it made my water crystal clear!! It’s also super quiet and was a perfect size my cabinet. It’s been a few weeks now and it’s still keeping up! Would 100% recommend this product!!!!

I bought this filter about a month and a half ago for my turtle tank, and unfortunately the motor has already completely stopped working. It ran fine at first, but didn’t last nearly as long as expected. For something that’s supposed to handle a turtle tank (which we all know can get messy), I really needed something durable and reliable. Having it fail this quickly is really disappointing, especially considering the price. I wouldn’t recommend this filter if you’re looking for something long-term or dependable for turtles.

Worked great when I 1st got it and now it stopped working. And i don’t know what to do without having to spend more money for another canister. I have a turtle and with it not working it’s horrible! It works for a little after I clean the canister then it just stops water flow. So it’s not cleaning the tank and it get dirty and smell horrible!

So I must have gotten a good Canister Filter im running this in a 100 gallon red eared slider tank. We are going on 6 months now. Yes the bulbs that came with it sucked by the after market bulbs I've bought are lasting much longer. At this point the pump is still running strong 💪 Could it be better? Yes. Is it good for the price? Absolutely.

I know a lot of these canister filters leak. The first time I started this one it did leak. I stopped it, re-opened it, drained all the excess water from the top and reseated it and the leaking stopped. It's very quiet. Easy to start as well. this is my 3rd buy of this brand and whenever I need another one I will have no issue buying again. Update 5/24/25 I now have 4 of these models. Totally satisfied with how they work and the ease of setup. Very quiet

Uv light issue. I'm on my 3rd bulb in 6 months. Never had a problem with my previous canister filter.

I’ve never used a canister filter before so wanted to understand how it works, how to maintain it, etc. I tried assembling the various pieces using the very limited inadequate instruction book. Couldn’t figure it out. Watched YouTube videos, many didn’t even have audio explaining anything. In one, the guy showing how to use this filter said the hoses weee so stiff and narrow he tossed them aside, and used hose he already had. I soaked the hoses so they’d be easier to attach but they didn’t stay on. I ended up with a bag of plastic pieces, the large filter, useless hoses after 2 days trying to figure this out. Maybe this would go better if it wasn’t my first canister filter; but I’m a pretty smart person (PhD though admittedly not great putting things together without good instructions) and this item was returned with a quick refund. I’ll try again when I can afford a canister filter by a known brand which will cost 2-3x this one; but you get what you pay for.
