This little beauty is perfect for the tight spots, like under a truck installing a driveshaft, for one, among others. You can tell this design was well thought out and that rubber face pad is an ingenious addition to an already useful tool. Awesome work, Gents!

Best damn hammer I gave ever used worked great on helping me knock our some bolts. Can't wait to hit some metal knife blanks with it.

I've been using my grandfather's 2 pound hand held sledge for a long time, and I will continue to use it, but it's more of a family heirloom now than a useful tool, and technology has improved greatly since the 1950's. This hand held sledge embodies the newest tech for a low tech tool like a sledge hammer. Primarily, the handle and grip are a huge improvement over the wooden ash handle of the past. This one has a grippy rubber handle which means I can hold onto it easier without having to grip really hard. As I age, I appreciate anything that helps me conserve energy! In the same vein, the rubber also absorbs some vibration, again, making it less fatiguing to use. There is also some hard plastic protection near the head to keep the handle from getting damaged when you inevitably miss the mark with a blow. I'm not sure about the soft cap, I can't think of a good use for it now, other than possibly banging out some sheetmetal without leaving sharp dents. I guess it would also absorb some vibration if you're hitting something like a tent stake maybe? Most likely, knowing me, I will remove it and eventually it will become lost. The quality of this hammer is really good, but there are definitely less expensive alternatives. From what I've seen, they offer similar features in well known brands, but lack the overstrike protection. Ultimately it's an individual choice as to whether you want to buy this one over a cheaper version, but this company does donate 3% of the price to veterans causes, and I think it's worth the price if you also factor in the fact that this thing should easily last decades. After all, my family has gotten 70+ years out of my grandfather's sledgehammer. I expect this one will be passed down to my son just the same.

Excellent quality, appears as though it will last forever. It’s short but then I’m old and can’t swing a longer, heavier hammer. Great company too!
