This 16"x48" carbon air filter material is more than large enough to replace the pre-filter in my Kenmore (Honeywell) HEPA filter fan (it has a drum-shaped HEPA filter, which the carbon pre-filter wraps around). As others have mentioned, the filter comes folded, and is quite dense, so hopefully will perform as well as OEM carbon pre-filter. Also nice, it comes with two velcro straps which are necessary for holding the filter in place around the drum. (I'm always careful to keep those straps after replacing the filter, but extras are very welcome, because I use three at a time). After cutting to fit for my filter-fan, I've got material left over for other possible use, making this an excellent value! 💰😃

I have an old DataVac electric duster that requires a round foam filter to keep dust out of the motor. After a couple decades, the old filter was starting to crumble, and didn't seem to let enough air through despite repeated rinsing. Searching for official replacements didn't turn up many results, and what I was getting seemed a little exorbitantly priced. (It seems my duster is actually still made, or at least there's something similar with a different name, but I didn't know until after I'd already found an alternative.) I got this filter material so that I could just cut out some new filters. This seems to catch just as much dust, while being more opaque and much more breathable than the old foam filter was. My little duster doesn't get nearly as hot as it used to. I'll probably cut out extras so that I can swap them as I go, and rinse and dry them between uses.

It came in a 10"x7" zipper bag with a couple tiny air holes. I have used many pre-cut carbon filters before and they always came fully sealed. The air holes are very tiny, however, so I don't think they will cause any loss of effectiveness of the filter. The filter is on the thinner side and stiffer than most other carbon filters I have used. Since it was packed in a 10" x 7" bag and it's stiffer, the creases are deeper. That said, I was able to unfold it flat and cut to the size that I want.

This is the perfect solution when you need a custom size carbon pre-filter. I put it around a dehumidifier that runs all the time in my house. I live in a humid climate and the dehumidifier makes the house much more comfortable. The dehumidifier filters get clogged quickly so this carbon pad not only freshens the air, but will filter out some of the debris in the air before it gets into the dehumidifier. I love that I can secure it with hook and loop tape - the double sided kind you get in a roll. I look forward to being able to rinse off the carbon filter, dry it out, and reuse it many times. Recommended

I use these bulk charcoal media filters as an intake filter for an ERV, as a pre-filter of sorts. Seems to be on-par with other bulk filter media I have ordered in the past. Works well, no complaints.
