Toner all over the place

Just installed this cartridge today. It is now is gushing black toner dust (see photo). I think this cartridge is faulty, or tell me what I have done wrong (yes I pulled out the ribbon with the orange tag). In favour of these, the previous cartridge ran on pretty well empty for three years.
