LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship

LEGO Star Wars 75021: Republic Gunship is AWESOME.I got it for a really good price and was a really good fun build, great minifigures. I'm a fan of the clones so was nice to get a commander and a pilot. the ship itself is very sturdy. If i was a kid i would go crazy on this. Although i still did even being a young adult :PTook a good while to build as its over 1'000. quite large but at the same time looks very accurate to the scale of the minfiguers.the doors have a really nice sliding mechanism and also you can even fit a speeder in the back which is a nice touch.To my surprise theres loads of space to fit clones or whatever minifiguers you wanna put in there.Overall Very Very good set

My boys (8 and 10) have been after this kit for a while and it did not disappoint.It challenged their building skills a little, but they enjoyed the process and worked together to build it over a few mornings.Great model, good levels of detail and unique characters too.That was more than a month ago and it is still complete and played with on an almost daily basis - the fleet continues to grow, they (apparently) just need lego to release more "baddies" so they can act out their battles more realistically...

One of my favourite Lego models that I own. Beautifully designed, big, fun to swoosh around, has real presence on the shelf. Normally I'm only interested in original trilogy models, but I'm glad I broadened my horizons for this one. Pricey, but feels substantial and well designed enough to justify that price.

The box features the new 2013 LEGO Star Wars design which features a green background to complement the Yoda figure in the top right of the box. The box advertises a poster inside and shows the mini-figures with details of the set's features on the back.Initially I was a little hesitant, to buy this, when this set first came out because it looked like just another rework of an old set from 2008 – however, there real improvements in this set in my opinion. It may look, just about similar on the outside, but the construction has been greatly developed. This one is very well designed and sturdy set. It includes a little handle that you can grab to pick it up (or hang it from a shelf, but it is strong enough that you can easily grab it from the bottom or top and it will stay together.On opening the box, you will find 10 bags in total. 9 of the bags include the set pieces and are numbered 1-9. The 10th bag includes two sets of instructions, a piece of cardboard (to place the set on as you build and work on it); there are a sheet of stickers, and a poster. The building instructions here are detailed. They give you a good general overview of what you will be building from each bag of Lego.The good:- The redesign is so much better in terms of stability-It is great to have the side turrets back-The red clone trooper was a great additional mini-figure-The weapon storage, in the back was a nice touchThe build was fun without being too difficult, there is so much playable value here, when it is done, and you do not have to worry about pieces coming loose when you pick it up. Is there anything that set lacks? Well there could have been more clone troops included, in what in essence is a troop carrier - that said Lego had done a sterling job on this set.

Our six year old absolutely loves this. It took a while to put it all together but thanks to Lego the packaging and instructions were very thorough. Very clever and useful handle meant it could be easily moved and played with without fear of parts being damaged.

The Republic Gunship is a real beauty to look at, for his owner and parents alike. My son (9, with lots of Lego experience) put it together himself, had to ask dad for help to fit one part on two occasions; took him a whole day to build. Lots of nice details like sliding doors, cabin swinging to the side, missiles. The ship is quite heavy, and although it has nice gadgets to play with, it would be quite bulky to lift a lot for play. In our case, it'll be more like a collector's item, as we have a few smaller Star Wars ships already.

An excellent purchase and addition to my collection. The model it is perhaps worth noting is large but the instructions are great and you build it up in stages. The end product is beautifully balanced and I love the way the side and rear doors open. It has a real sturdy feel about it as well - would be excellent for younger lego builders to play with. I can see myself building this one over and over again. Really impressed.
