My Friends: A Novel Hardcover – May 6, 2025

Poignant, marvelous writing, lovely story. Fresh and entertaining and soulful. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a wonderful story

I have been in a desperate search to find a novel that would make me feel, to utterly destroy me. This book did it in the best way. Laughing so hard I cried and crying so much I laughed, this story is love on pages. I hope one day I find something somebody writes that affects me more, but I’m not sure it’s possible. If this was the only book I could read for all eternity, I would read it every day. And I would be happy. It’s that good. I’m not being hyperbolic, it’s really that good.

This Novel is a Masterpiece! It started a bit slow; by Chapter twelve I was drawn into a wonderful Mystery. My favorite Character is “The Artist” His Persona is deep The Author included several laugh out loud moments which help the reader deal with such an emotional Roller-coaster.

Perhaps not his best book but filled with great characters and his usual witty dialog. Well worth spending the time

If I could give this book 1,000 stars, instead of just five, I would. The title is so fitting - while reading this book, the characters became my friends, too. Fredrik Backman is a genius. I have loved all his books, but this one will hold a special place in my heart. This book is about so much, but it's mostly about the power of art, love, and belief in yourself and others. Read this book, and you'll find yourself wanting to read it again and again. It's a gem.

I have enjoyed every Backman book and this was no exception. Wonderful writing, and wonderful story. Truly a joy to read another book from my favorite author.

I am only 38 pages in and I am laughing, crying, and overwhelmed by the incredible understanding of the complexity of the human soul, psyche, that is described to beautifully by Mr. Backman. In no manner can I read this straight through, the emotions, ideas, considerations, and truths can be overwhelming. It's a gift of beauty, joy, sadness, and above all the things we are afraid to say.Thank you, it was worth the wait.
