I seen this reviewed by a Canadian girly book tuber I like. I fell in love with the cover and paid like 25ish to get it here. The story is soooo mid it’s very unfortunate. I loved the cover a lot mainly the sleeve if I remember correctly the actual hard back is just plain black. If I’d known how I feel about the book before buying it I wouldn’t and I barely even remember the plot but I still know it was poopie time 😑

This is one of those weird books, that even after I read it, I felt like I should have liked it more than I did. Some of my dislikes comes from the multiple POVs, something I’m already picky about, plus the other POVs felt tacked on and not fleshed out enough. Still, I loved how the characters played off one another and how their tropes were used to effect, and I loved the setting (especially the beginning) and the pieces of history were woven into the text. But the writing style did not speak to me, and I’d find myself zoning out or easily distracted while reading this.

Paints such vivid scenes in your head throughout the book. One of my favorite horror books.
