Works Fine
I plugged in the cable, VX-6 Commander recognized and uploaded my files from my radio. It was easy. The last cable I had I needed to download some sketchy drivers, so good for that. I considered buying a much more expensive RT cable. Glad I didn't have to.

Broke almost immediately.
Cable disintegrated even before it was fully threaded in, leaving the pin stuck in my radio.

VX-6R - Chirp
It works great with Ubuntu and CHIRP. If you have trouble go to the Ubuntu Forum and ask for advice. I also had to "System Setting>Chirp>Turn ON Access USB hardware directly"

Works with Linux
This cable does not work with windows 11, on macOS it needs some 3rd party kernel extension (which I decided to avoid), but in Ubuntu it just worked (chirp-next-2023). Poor quality of the usb connector (everything rattles), but probably ok for the money

Works for Yaesu vx-6r
Easy peasy

It works, but took several attempts to get it to work.
I used CHIRP and the instructions were not perfectly clear. After several attempts is worked fine.

Didn't work with VX-6r, very sloppy fit inside the USB connector, Chirp couldn't talk to radio
Update 4/24/24- I ordered an RT systems cable. Just the cable! $30. Ouch. Not the RT systems software. But it worked with Chirp the first time I tried it. I did it exactly the way I tried it with this unknown cable. I'd say buy and try if you are patient and want to save money but it didn't work for me. Not even once. The RT systems cable was clearly better made, thick insulation, secure fit into the USB.Didn't work with VX-6r, very sloppy fit inside the USB connector on my laptop, Chirp couldn't talk to the radio delivering constant error messages. I would Chirp a lot with multiple radios and connectors without issue. Finally a guy at a Hamfest with an RT systems cable programmed my radios effortlessly with Chirp. I'm returning.
