Surprisingly excellent! A hidden gem.
The supply of matcha right now is not the best, and there is t much variation for good matcha on Amazon. However, this Matcha is fantastic. The colour is a vibrant green, super smooth, and tastes amazing. Itโs a very bold matcha with strong nutty undertones, I will be sticking up on this. I have tried many ceremonial grades off Amazon but this one is standing out as by far the best. Maybe more suited for avid Matcha drinkers as the taste is not like your usual matcha sweetness. It pairs very well with some maple syrup! Size wise is good, 30g for the price is a steal and you get the appropriate energy needed without the awful jitters!

Great matcha to try
This is one of the very few best matcha on amazon. The powder is vibrantly green with fine texture, the taste is smooth with subtle matcha fragrance. I ordered a few months ago, but have just found that the price has gone up from ยฃ17 to ยฃ28, I understand the matcha from Kyoto has been in high demand recently hence the price hike. Despite its fineness, with regret I will give it a miss this time.

Interesting Fukuoka blend
This is my first time trying a matcha sourced from Fukuoka. As my photo shows, the visual aspects confirm its high quality. The powder itself has a vibrant, deep green colour and smells quite toasty. Once whisked, the prepared tea shows a good froth and a rich, opaque green appearance. To really taste the specifics of this blend, I made it a bit thicker than usucha at 80C with an electric frother. It was not quite koicha level, but I used 1g more powder than the usual recommended amount. At this thickness, it has a noticeable bitterness, but it's not a harsh one. Instead, it's more of a malty, barley-like bitterness that mixes with the umami. Here's the interesting part: the sweetness and creaminess don't kick in until you swallow. The lingering aftertaste in your throat is a pleasant, noticeable sweetness that clings, along with a subtle creaminess. This flavour profile makes the Fukuoka blend quite different from a classic top-tier Uji matcha. I found them more likely to be exceptionally rounded, balanced, and smooth character right from the first sip, whereas this blend reveals its sweetness and creaminess in the finish. I also drank it as a standard usucha, of course. It's fairly tame then; still really nice, but didn't feel much like a unique blend. At ยฃ25, I feel it's definitely overpriced for what it is, but due to the matcha shortage in Japan this year and the overall price increase, it's understandable I won't deduct a star from this. I'll give it 4 stars. It's not something I'd particularly rush to rebuy, but I would recommend it for someone wanting to try an interesting matcha taste, perhaps when it goes back to the true price of sub-ยฃ20. I'll also try their other blends once they're back in stock.

Amazing
Iโve went through a few different matchas now, this is the best one Iโve found on Amazon. I do have another blend from kodama but this one is my favourite so far. Itโs not as bitter as the other ones Iโve tried, and it has a more full bodied taste. I pair mines with oat milk and drink hot. Itโs also good iced and on its own. The colour is vibrant and the quality is very good. I will be reordering this one !

Great!
Great, smooth, vibrant. Obsessed with this Matcha and have been drinking daily. Easily a favourite for me. Highly recommend! Recently got really into Matcha and itโs replaced my morning coffee. Been looking for a product which reminds me of my time in Japan. This is my second Matcha from Kodama Teahouse and i just love the cool tin designs, Iโll definitely be keeping the tin and hopefully have a collection.

Incredibly smooth matcha of a high quality.
I have found good quality Ceremonial Grade Matcha powder hard to find in the UK, but that is no more, the KODAMA TEAHOUSE Premium Ouka Blend matcha is the best I have tasted since I was introduced to matcha tea on trips to Japan many years ago. I made it by sieving two scoops into a tea bowl, adding a little cold water to create a paste, and then adding hot water while agitating with a bamboo whisk to mix the matcha powder and water and to create a froth. It is has an incredibly smooth and light taste right through to the last drop in the bowl and is definitely a matcha to savour. It comes in a wonderful container that I will be keeping, it is so good to be able to drink matcha tea that has come from Japan. Wonderful.
