The reason for the 4 stars, my neighbor uses it. Her hair line was receding. Both of us, and her hairdresser, see growth along the forehead. Per my neighbor, the scalp is the garden for the follicle. Healthy clean scalp. No scent. She has to use hair conditioner on back or her head and ends. Yes, I did purchase this. 5 *'s for deliver from Amazon. 5*'s for the packaging. The price for the bottle was good. . . . . the bottle had been opened. There was a dry crust around the rim. It was almost 1/2 empty. I returned within an hour with no issues. Because I see my neighbor's great results. I will reorder.

Girrrrrrl... When I tell you that I have been on a JOURNEY to finding a shampoo that my hair and scalp like, I am not kidding. The money I have wasted on shampoo after shampoo only to be disappointed time and time again. UNTIL NOW. I can't say that it stopped my hair fall completely or even at all yet, I still notice shedding. But I do have underlying conditions and am on medication that can be factoring in to that. So many shampoos feel good the first 1 or 2 times I wash, seemingly less hair fall, but then start building up product on my hair that make it feel oily or waxy, so then I need to use a clarifying shampoo to get the product out and my hair feeling normal, meaning I'm having to buy another product just to take care of the first product and it's a never ending cycle and well, call me lazy, but it's a b*tch, girl. Ain't nobody got time or money for all that. I have been using this product for a couple months and I have never once felt like my hair was oily, waxy or building up product. My hair feels soft after washing and for the next 2 days. I'm very sensitive to smells and this one doesn't have a strong scent. It just smells clean. i also had an itchy patch on my scalp behind one of my ears and I noticed recently that it's gone away since using this product. Do be aware that it's not detangling, so if you usually get tangles after washing, make sure to have something for that.. I use my Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner after I wash my hair and it works great. Don't let the small size and high price tag scare you, cause it's worth it. I was at my wits end trying to find something that worked for me, ready to give up. I'm so glad I have this a try. I hope it works for you too!

As I continue in my quest of finding a product that will stop my hair loss, I had read an article about the new Nioxin Ultimate Power Hair Fall Defense shampoo. I decided to try it because they are a trusted brand and the reviews on here seemed hopeful and what do I have to lose besides more of my hair and my money. I actually had been encouraged by the mention of the fragrance in the AI overview. I thought great, I like fragrance and maybe Nioxin finally has that figured out. The price is a bit steep in my opinion so at least the shampoo could leave me with some clean wonderful smelling hair. I was deceived. Nioxin why does your shampoo still smell like your coworker who just took their smoke break and thought some mint chewing gum would cover it up but they just reek of stale cigarettes and mint?? I get the mint as it “stimulates” the scalp but can’t there be an improvement on the fragrance? To be noted, the shampoo lathers up beautifully and leaves my hair feeling nice and clean. I have to use extra conditioner on my ends but that’s not a deal breaker especially if it truly can lessen the excessive shedding. I also bought the Nioxin Ultimate Power Hair Fall Defense Serum to use along with it as recommended. I have only been using it for a few days and have not seen an improvement thus far but will update in a couple of weeks.

This does not work and let me explain why. 1. This product contains harsh sulfate that damage hair. 2. There are no active ingredients that have any medical indications. 3. The "clinical study" that they reference as proof of their product's results is anecdotal evidence from a group of 30 people. Anyone that has ever taken a science or statistics class knows that this is not a reasonable sample size to prove any theories. 4. The tingly feeling you have when using the product is from the addition of peppermint oil which gives the false sense that something is activating on your scalp. I got duped by advertising and don't want you to fall for it too. All of the above points can be seen in the fine print on the bottle. Despite everything I found once receiving the product, I did still give it a fair shot and did not see any reduction in hair fall out or improvement in my hair texture, thickness, or health.

This product was referred by my hair shop because my hair loss a lot. When I bought this product, I am really satisfied with the results. This is best shampoo which I had used. It is easy to have a foam and very comfortable. I really like.

Great packing and fast shipment. I have a lot of hair but it’s thin and falls out all over so I’m trying this hair fall defense. I was turned onto Nixon 25 years ago after the birth of my first son my hair was falling out in clumps due to hormone changes. Nixon helped strengthen and produced more rapid hair growth. Because I have so much hair I stopped using it, but I noticed now that I’m in menopause my hair is falling out again so trying this again, also my husband’s hair is thinning so I bought him #2 Nixon to see if it’ll help him. I’ll update this here with results of both. Worth the price far less expensive than other brands and I trust the quality due to past experience. I love the minty feel and smell and my hair (which is also oily) feels so clean after.

It's not work for me

Husband was going bald, could see results early but nearing the whole bottle it has made a drastic change. He went from almost shaving his hair off completely to now growing it.

This is great love it helps heaps with losing hair and thinning hair I use twice a week has made a big difference my hair is thickening up again I have lots of new strands growing back highly recommend I also use a nixion conditioner with it

I have been using this for several months. It smells amazing and its got kind of a tingly feeling once applied. I believe that it is making a difference with hair fall, and will continue to use for the forseeable future. It takes time to notice a difference. They do not have a conditioner that goes along with it.

Trying to help myself keep the hair that I have on my head. It’s been 3 months of use and It does strip a lot of the natural oils so make sure you get a moisturizing conditioner. but I will say that I am starting to notice a difference on the sides of my head that you could see my scalp before through my hair, now it’s a bit thicker, less scalp yay! I also started using biotin with this and on occasion I do put caster oil on my scalp before bed and give it a nice massage (then do this shampoo in the am). I think when you’re dealing with hair loss the more tools in your kit the better. I still have 3/4 of a bottle so a little does go a long way. It also has a nice scent to it. Overall pleased will buy again.
