Aerotek 40V X2 Series Hedge Trimmer Machine Only, Cordless, No Battery Included

Brilliant very strong

I liked the idea of a battery powered mower to avoid the hassle of long cables/extensions and the risk of running over the power cord. I did a good bit of research and found the Aerotek on Amazon with some decent reviews and what seemed like a reasonable price.Initial impressions were good, it was a bit fiddly to put together but not too challenging, and for a while the mower worked pretty well when used to cut our (relatively small) lawn. I had pre-empted the possibility of battery life problems by purchasing a second battery at the outset so all seemed fine - so much so that I thought I would expand my Aerotek product range by purchasing the strimmer and the hedge trimmer. By this point, I was fully invested in the Aerotek brand.Fast forward about a year and one sunny day intending to cut the lawn - get the mower out, put the battery in: nothing happens. Change the battery: same problem.Contacted Aerotek as still within my 2 year guarantee and they agree to have it looked at, which involved sending it back via courier, bit of a hassle to have to package it up etc but no real problem. After a few weeks the mower comes back with no explanation of what was done or what the problem was but seems to be working so fair enough.Carry on using the mower and the other Aerotek products for a while without any issues until one sunny day intending to cut the lawn, get the strimmer out, put the battery in: nothing happens. Repeat the courier process with the strimmer- send back, wait, receive 'repaired' item without explanation, use for a while seemingly without problems. Within 6 months, both products failed again and this time outside of the 2 year warranty.So, at this point I have: a mower and a strimmer, both less than 3 years old which have both been repaired once already and now don't work at all, nor can they be repaired or replaced under warranty. The hedge trimmer (which is the newest of all the products) works for now and has 2 batteries which cost £100 each and last about 15 minutes. Sum total for all this, approx. £550.Needless to say when the hedge trimmer stops working next summer (which I fully expect it to) I will be getting rid of the last of my Aerotek products for good. Oh well.
