Can it be used on seagrass rug/carpet?

not sure but worked really well on a wool berber carpet, make sure you shake it well and read evenly. also make sure it is damp. I sprayed the carpet with a light coating of water to make sure it was damp NOT wet.

Will it ruin my bagless vacuum cleaner?

Well I used it for my carpet to hoover up the powder my hoover is also bagless no problems , empty your hoover when you have hoovered up the powder

Do you think its better than a shampoo based cleaner like using a Vax?

Maybe yes depending on how dirty the carpet is your cleaning ! My carpets where fairly new maybe 4 weeks but I had a few friends over one night and had fireworks outside so my carpet took a hammering ! After using vanish gold then giving it a brush in waited about 20-30 mins and vacuumed as normal and what a difference ! Baring in mind I could have done a spot clean here and there I just did the whole carpet and it came up like new

How to Use: Vacuum clean the carpet - Turn the bag upside down and pull of both sealing strips from the bottom. Hold the bag by the handle and shake to distribute the powder evenly across the carpet - Work in powder with brush and allow to completely dry (approx. 20 mins) - Completely vacuum up dried powder - After use, reseal the bag using the adhesive tag.
