Money well spent
Great dash cam! I have been using it for a few months now. The picture/video quality is really good even at night for both cameras. The speaker volume isn't obnoxious and loud. Setting it up in my car was a bit tricky, but got the job done. Note that it's for my specific car that the setup wasn't super easy. The car has a big sensor box in the middle of the windshield, so the placement of the camera was a bit awkward. All the functions/features work well and so far has not succumbed to 100+ degrees of heat. The camera records sounds quite well too. The smartphone app is also decent. Though just note that changing the camera settings will reboot the camera, which can make reconnecting to the camera's wifi a time-consuming process. One more thing to note, be careful taking out the SD card. It may get stuck sometimes due to the design of the slot. So to prevent that in the first place, just gently push the card to pop it out.

Great camera with underwhelming mounts but helpful features.
Great camera. I wish the back was also 4k. Night vision is not that great though. My much cheaper dashcam has better night clarity. Though, the most annoying gripe I have is the mounts. Especially the front one. At a $500 price point, I'd expect an easily ajustable mount to change camera angles AND left/right rotation. The mount allows you to change the vertical angle but not left/right, which makes precise mounting way more crucial and a pain than it needs to be. My cheaper dashcams (over half the cost)came with easy to install/remove and adjust mounts. Although I took great care to make this Blackvue mount center and balanced as possible, I installed it ever so slightly at an angle and now my dash cam video looks slightly aimed to the right. I can't do anything about it (other than remove and reinstall) because this mount uses sticky adhesive that can't be easily moved and can't tilt left/right as already stated. Such a petty misalignment causing so much annoyance. The mount should be much more flexible and better engineered at this price point. As for the cloud feature, it is awesome. I purchased a hotspot device that stays in my car. It has a built in battery so it stays powered even when the car is off. I got mine at a big box store and am using a prepaid sim card to enable the 4GLTE service. Connected that to my Blackvue cam via wifi. Blackvue cam is connected to a Blackvue battery so it stays on even after the car is off. So I have car surveillance 24/7 from my phone or computer using Blackview's apps. Parking modes come in motion/collision detect, continuous 1 frame per second time lapse, and I believe parking mode can be disabled all together for nonstop normal recording. Both front and back cams can be on during parking mode. Free cloud plan is limited but can't bring myself to spend 10 bucks a month to look at my dashcam footage past the free 10 mins/day.

Videos are crystal clear when the DashCam is working...
This DashCam is great... When it's working. I may have received a defective unit, and I have returned it and gone to a spare Thinkware unit that my friend had sitting around. The video quality is stunning when you play it back and license plates are easily legible. At night its almost as good, but it varies on how easily plates can be read based on the amount of the light in the area you're in (to be expected). My issues started when I went on a road trip this past week. I enjoy driving with the windows down vs using the A/C and it is possible that this DashCam doesn't do too well when it doesn't have a constant flow of cool air. It gave an audible overheat shutdown warning multiple times in the 6 hours I was driving which defeats the purpose of a dashcam as it wasn't recording for 15 minute segments. After I got back, I noticed the DashCam was no longer turning on and I'm positive it isn't a wiring issue since it's plugged into the USB port currently as I don't want to mess with wiring. After looking online I have found that other users experienced the overheat warning, while others have had no problems. I have decided to return at this time and wait for BlackVue's next gen for my next purchase. Hopefully they have corrected the overheat issues then and I don't get a defective unit!

Peace of mind on the road and parking mode.
This is a high end camera, it's well made and in my opinion the quality at least matches its asking price. The box contains various accessories that help install the camera in your car. Inside the box, you will find the instruction manual as well as a tool to pry the paneling so that the cables are not visible. Also, they give you the option to use the cigarette port on your car to charge the camera and the accessories for a more permanent installation. It's all there inside the box. However, if you want more options, look at their website. They offer more services and products for different kinds of situations as well as subscription services. In this packet you get a 4k camera for the front of the vehicle and a 1080p cam for the back of the vehicle. The images are crisp and clear if you got a 4k TV, which I have. Don't forget to download the app on Android or IOs.

Pittasoft is a RIPOFF
Pittasoft is the company that owns Blackvue. They increased my monthly plan charge without notifying me first. I sent them a compy of my bank statement showing what the charge had been to them, they said it was not paid to them. I check, double check and triple checked my account ... they just decided to increase my monthly fee. I told them to cancel it, that was three months ago ... still getting charged and they keep saying I have to cancel from the subscribed apps on my phone. I never used my phone to set up their account through and app, I did it with a voice call. Now they announced they will no longer support live casts to Facebook or YouTube. I bought these with that feature, now it is not a feature. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT...nice cameras but the Company will rip you off if they get your Credit Card number. Still, fighting to have them stop charging me, next I have to go to my bank and sign a Fraud Report to get it stopped. A lot of work because they increaed my payment without notification and refuse to stop charging me for a camera that no longer has the features that I purchased.

Looks great in a Tesla Model 3
I had another great dash cam but after getting my Model 3, I really wanted something with a lower profile look and wanted something for the rearview. I installed this in myself and with the aid or YouTube creators who already pioneered this, I was able to get it installed in about 90mins and the wires are all hidden and looks professional. Picture quality is great and the WiFi features are nice and convenient. You can easily disconnect the front camera and take it down if you park in sketchy parts. I would like to get the external battery pack however the cost is pretty high so I keep waiting for other options.

Great camera, but sketchy app permissions.
Fairly expensive for the set, so I waited and bought as an Amazon Warehouse Deal and think the price I paid was fair then. It was a very easy install using the OBD II power port plug in. The app works very well, but I'm not a fan of the permissions required to access it. I've resorted to using a older phone to set up the cameras and keep in the vehicle for future use.

Tricky Quirky
I had this on my wish list since it came out. And I have studied and watched a lot of videos on it. While the camera is really pretty nice, it's very limited lens angle could be a problem. The following might be deal breakers to the next person who signs up. 1. The Cloud Software is required in order to access the camera to program from your own Wifi or device. This requires you to publish your network name and key on their website, a HUGE NO NO. 2. You must sign up and pay on a monthly fee, to be able to login to their crappy cloud software, and to copy your own video files from your camera to your own network device such as a PC While they do allow you to copy 100 files a month or 10 minutes of live view This is clearly designed for force you into a monthly contract. This should be clearly stated before purchase. 3. The Network WiFi is written to G standards, so it's way out of date, this will force you to downgrade your entire networks speed to accommodate accessing the camera from the PC software. Dis-abling the parked network login did not work, and the camera constantly tries to connect to the network, regardless. I can't tell if it's coming from their network, or the camera. Really really crappy stuff. 4. The camera runs very very hot, I am not sure the long term implications but I suspect, life will be effected. Overall, the unit did not really live up to the hype, and I am very disspointed with the software and cloud trickery. Very lousy way to do things. You can, if you can figure out how to get the camera setup, not program the camera or software for network access, but you will be required to setup a cloud account in order to change the camera settings. So you can use it by removing the memory chip, and putting it in a PC. But then again, the point of buying this camera was it's touted cloud prowess using 2.4g wifi... LoL Setup and Configuration is NOT intuitive or simple. I consider myself an advanced user. I did not contact them company regarding these issues, as their entire business model is designed around overcharging for a camera, and then forcing you to pay for their quirky cloud service.

Good quality picture, system, and accessories.
Good quality picture, front and back. GPS works very well, and the viewer allows you to see exactly where the recording was as well as speed. Easy to connect through a phone, and then set up a connection with your house WiFi to upload files when you get home. (Although you'd need a Power Magic, or similar, to keep the upload going once the car is turned off.) If you've got plenty of data on your phone it will upload any "event", which you can adjust the sensitivity of detecting, immediately your phone has connection. The supplied power lead, with a 12V plug attached, is easily long enough to reach the boot of even a big estate. This allows you to use a socket in the boot and tuck the wires away neatly.
