I’ve bought my second one after 5 years as the peddle broke but it lasted that long. I bought my second one for my house and also bought one for me mom. While the can seems to keep odors out while closed it still smells when you open the lid if you have anything stinky in their so be aware. Overall it is a GREAT buy for this price and I recommend as the pedal function is easy and it holds the trash bags with no slippage too.

I’d give this trash can 4 stars. The size is perfect for what I needed and the price is pretty good too. Regular 13-gallon trash bags fit it really well.My only issue is the lid. You have to step on the pedal pretty hard to get it to open, and sometimes it feels like it barely wants to come up. I thought it would open a little easier.I’m using it in my basement so I don’t really care what it looks like, but I probably wouldn’t put it somewhere super visible in the house. Overall it does the job and I’m happy with it, just wish the pedal worked a little better.

It's actually really good. It holds the bag in place really well, which I very much appreciate, and the lid is totally flat so you can't open it unless you press the foot pedal, which is very nice when you have a toddler! It's fairly decent at odor control. I use it as a diaper bin and it does pretty well with it. After I take out the bag I spray air freshener in it before I put a new bag in and it doesn't seem to hold onto the bad odors nearly as much as other trash cans have. Definitely pleased with it.

This garbage can is okay but not great. There are instructions for installing the lid, but I didn't need them since it came fully assembled, which I appreciated.It has two major drawbacks though. The first is that once the lid is open, you have to push it to close it. I was hoping for a can where you step on the pedal, the lid opens, you toss the trash in, then when you take your foot off the pedal the lid closes. This one doesn't do that. If you fully step on the pedal the lid opens and stays open. You have to push it with your hand to get it to close. You could be careful to put just the right amount of pressure on the foot pedal to open it just enough to toss the trash in without it opening fully, then it would close. But honestly, who wants to have to take that much care just to throw out some trash?The second problem is that there is no handle on the top. The lid fits perfectly right into the frame, with no room to spare, which is great -- except that you can't get your fingers in there. Because there is no handle, there is no way to open this lid with one hand while tossing in trash with the other. Your only option is to use the foot pedal. I get that's the purpose of the can, but sometimes you might be to the side of the can, or sitting down, or whatever, and you just want to be able to quickly open the lid and toss something in without having to position yourself right in front of it to access the pedal with your foot. It would be a huge improvement if they'd just add a simple handle so you can open the lid with your hand if needed.For these two reasons I am going to return this can. I just don't want to deal with these annoyances for the next however many years. If those things don't bother you, then the can is great. Nice quality, arrived in good condition, seems solid enough and not flimsy.

The lid of this can is a good design, but it's flimsy. The metal bar that operates the lid fits into a hole in the plastic to operate the lid. The lid also fits onto the can with plastic hinges. Unfortunately, the plastic has worn in less than a year to the point where the lid no longer operates. The hinge has broken so the lid no longer opens and closes and sits loosely on the can. I leave it open, but the "arms" that hold the trash bag and the rim itself collects dirt, crumbs, etc. So it doesn't work and it takes extra effort to clean. Not a great combo.

Good quality plastic. Lid flips up well. It's large but it's amazing how quickly it can get filled up with recyclables. I would recommend getting a nice big size like this.

The bin has been successful In keeping the odour out. We clear the bin about every 2 days. Just note that there is no soft closing. Not a feature that is advertised anyway.

Unfortunately, the foot pedal mechanism failed after just 3 days of use.
