ProtoArc EM01 NL Wireless Trackball Mouse, Rechargeable Thumb Control, Gold

Just had 2 Logitech M570's go bad due to the button switches, decided to try ProtoArc as a budget replacement, about half the price I paid for the M570 few years ago. These things are great. Best feature is the connectivity, no need to use a special unifier dongle and there is a 3 device connection switch. I have only tested the bluetooth connection so far and it has been working with no problems. Just pair it once and it works. The ball movement is smooth, I can't feel any difference compared to the M570. I see people complaining that there is drag but my unit is very smooth. The button clicks are very nice also, very quiet compared to the M570. The unit is slightly wider than the M570, maybe 1/4". For me, I don't really notice it. The adjustable tilt angle is ok, I don't have an opinion on it, I don't feel it has much benefit, not to me anyways. The complete bottom of the device is covered by one large rubber pad to prevent sliding around. I seen some complaints about this, but I think this is much better than the 3 small pads on the M570. Those pads on the M570 eventually lose the adhesive and fall off, at least on mine they did, so it had no grip pads after a year or two. So far, I think this is a real winner at this price point. If it holds up for awhile, I'll probably get another one for work.

I"m revising my rating on this mouse. I've been using it now for several months now. It is gummy, it does not move smoothly under my thumb. It just has too much friction in it. yes it's clean. I've popped out the ball, blownit with compressed air, picked at it with toothpicks, there is NOTHING there, but it still does not slide well or easily. I can't get fine tuned motion I have come to expect from use of a trackball, which as I stated in my original review, I have used for decades. I don't know why they still make those other horrid kinds. But long term use, this mouse falls short. I guess I'll go back to Logitech. *** ORIGINAL REVIEW *** I have been a trackball user for years. Most of the time the only good brand was logitech. My keyboard was getting finicky, so I started looking for a new keyboard mouse combo. I found this one and thought I would give it a try. It connected fairly easily to the keyboard using a common dongle. It also connected to my eork computer via bluetooth abd I have a third connection if I want it. Awesome!!! just as good as a other wireless trackballs and cheaper. Love the 3 device connectivity and that the buttons are on top. Also like the trackball 'speed' (Dpi) control - how awesome is that

In the hunt to replace my beloved Logitech M570 (died due to a corroded battery frying the internal components) I ended up trying out 4 different other trackball mice. I'm 6'5" with large palms and long fingers so I needed one that could support (most of) my hand with minimal wrist and knuckle fatigue or finger crowding. I've rated them by personal preference below: 1. Nulea M501 ($33.99). Clever clone of the Logitech M570 even down to the defined separate grooves/shelves for ring finger and pinky, which helped separate my fingers for less crowding. Professional packaging and instructions. Added bonus of USB dongle + 2 Bluetooth channels and charging via USB-C port (vs. AA battery). Nulea's website also offers a fast and convenient customer service messenger chat, which I used when I initially had a problem connecting via Bluetooth (FIXED). Can't recommend enough. I also picked up the black/red Anleo Hard Travel Case ($9.59) to match so I can throw it in my backpack and not worry about it. This is the one I ended up keeping. 2. ProtoArc EM01 NL ($47.99) a mashup in looks and features of a Logitech M575S and MX ERGO ($99.99) but at a less insane price. Classy black professional box packaging. The mouse really feels like a quality product and has great features and design. I really liked the 2 angles you can adjust the mouse to suit your wrist. Perhaps the thing it was missing for me was that my ring and pinky fingers were too crowded and shared the same space. I also decided I wasn't a fan of the mushier quiet buttons and preferred a tactile/audible click. 3. MicroPack Trackball Vertical Mouse ($29.99). You get what you pay for here. Minimal features and feels noticeably cheaper; same with the basic packaging. The more extreme "natural handshake" vertical angle was a little too much for me and at the time I preferred the ProtoArc EM01 NL more, although to be honest I felt MicroPack's trackball actually ran slightly smoother on the screen. 4. Logitech Ergo M575S ($49.99). Purchased from local office store before returning it because it felt smaller and ironically less ERGOnomically comfortable than my original M570, and for $49.99 it still ran off a AA battery. I also decided I wasn't a fan of the mushier quiet buttons and preferred a tactile/audible click.

Great everyday trackball for me. Size, battery life, variety of ball colors for bling, holds up to wear. Best yet, affordable. More for your money over Logitech and Kensington products.

I could not slow down movement of pointer enough for detailed work requiring exact positioning. USB-C connector is recessed making it impossible to get many male connectors to fit. I do not know where original cable is because it was too short to reach charger. Therefore, had to use 3rd party cable, but one with a thin connector.

So I've been trial testing this mouse for a little while now, I will say I do like the button layout of it as well as the tilt feature, how ever when it comes to the track ball it is not as well refined as one would like. I've cleaned the trackball multiple times but I still get a jittery mouse feel and the trackball hanging up when scrolling from left to right and up an down. I feel as of maybe the material used to hold the track ball in place may be too tight and or maybe be the wrong material all together as with just normal use with cleaned hands still resulted in a sticky mouse travel i have a separate mouse used with one hand that i use for work as a construction worker in field with mud and dirt all around me and that mouse with all the contaminated in the air still works like a charm.

I've always used track ball mice. This one is great. The Bluetooth connection is great and switching to different PCs or phone is seamless. Only small complaint is that the right button is a little too sensitive and is often clicked accidentally.

Works just fine, but made a mistake in purchase. Products from the USA are not allowed in this business.

The PLASTIC internal pin shaft of the Middle Mouse Wheel broke after only one month normal use. This pin should be metal, as plastic against plastic WILL wear out or break over time. Warranty was offered, but having to spend so much time providing personal information and a video is an aggravation I can do without for something I am not at fault for. Otherwise, it works GREAT - until it doesn't.

I already had one of these, the one that has lights. It's perfect. This one is almost exactly the same, except the ball is a bit loose, which I find annoying already (though I realise now it is because I sit the mouse on the arm of my chair). Also, it didn't come in a sealed package. I'm still giving it a 5 because of price and quality.
