SOUNDLINK III Build, Battery and sound Quality
Design and Build:- At 3 pounds and measuring 1.9 x 10.1 x 5.2 inches, the Soundlink III doesn’t exactly fall into the ultra portable category. But alas, it is slim enough to be tucked into a backpack, though probably not a purse. That in mind, there are other Bluetooth speakers on the market that are smaller, and cheaper, but none will offer such a wide spectrum of sound. But more on that later. That in mind, the Soundlink III is not IP-X rated, which is to say it isn’t waterproof or even water resistant. So if you’re looking for a speaker of that class, I suggest you check out the Fugoo, which we gave top marks to in our best Bluetooth speaker comparison. While the Soundlink 3 is of the wireless ilk, there is an AUX input on the back of the speaker for those prefer to go wired or perhaps rocking something that isn’t Bluetooth compatible. Battery Life:- The Soundlink III is spec’d for 14 hours of playback, though that is likely at 50% amplitude. Nevertheless, and despite the Soundlink 3 not providing a battery indicator level via my iPhone, the battery life seems about right. Though I would suggest erring on the side of caution, and recharge every 10 hours. Sound Quality:- So yes, the Soundlink III is on the larger size when it comes to what is typically called a portable Bluetooth speaker. And while I know this Bluetooth speaker isn’t necessarily marketed that way, it fringes on that class. So with that in mind, I was very impressed with the Soundlink III’s range. There are notable and varied lows, complemented by reasonable high, at least for a speaker of this “capacity”. Unlike the Fugoo or the UE Boom, the Soundlink III is more uni-directional in terms of sound distribution. But with that caveat seems to come greater amplitude than the aforementioned, along with a higher amplitude that could easily serve as one’s full time and only speaker. Though I can’t recommend you do that, it could be a reasonable move, especially for those living in a studio apartment. With top quality sound and an almost portable quality, the Soundlink III ranks fairly high in my book. I like that it’s not so on trend with respects to the design that it will feel dated in 12 month’s time. Which is to say I appreciate its retro like look, enabling it to blend in where ever it’s placed. $299 is towards the top end of Bluetooth speakers. But with that you get a Bluetooth speaker that can be used in a wider variety of scenarios thanks to its amplitude and spectrum of sound. I have Bose Soundlink Mini 2 and Soundlink III:- Both have its own sound signatures Mini suppress High and Mids upto some extent and Little Bloomy and Soft signature Soundlink III boasts High and Mid perfectly and Bass is as required and little warm signature

Perfect for my Need
I bought this speaker on my birthday this year, thus I am using it for a little more than a month now and I absolutely love it. I wanted a small portable speaker with decent audio quality because I noticed that at home I do a lot of casual music listening with my portable devices that carry with me in every room, I listened to this product in a store and both my friends and I liked it right away. Before buying it I listened to other speakers in the same category, at the end I decided for this because I own another Bose product (the Soundtouch) and for its pleasant aesthetic. I really like the sound of this guy, you just cannot squeeze nothing more from something so small. Sometimes the bass are a little too overpowering but it is sufficient to change its position to get a more balanced sound. Of course because the two internal drivers are so close to each other you don't get any stereo separation, unless you pair to a computer and you put it right close to the keyboard. It is easy to use, easy to pair. There is no mic therefore you cannot use it to make calls if you are using a smartphone, but I do not need that feature. I appreciate that it remembers a lot of pairing devices, between me and my family we have many smartphones, tablets and laptops around, it never failed to connect to any of them. Battery life is great, the charging cradle could be a nuisance if you travel (you just have to carry it with you instead of a simple USB cable), maybe this issue could be fixed in a next release. The look is great, we have the dark gray one and it is really non intrusive even on the bed stand where we put the charging cradle. It is small enough that fits well in the hand, the material is made of has a nice touch feeling. The bottom had a thick rubber pad to avoid scratching the surface where it stands, but it easily collects dust and small particles, I usually scrap it passing the palm of my hand before setting it down. Everything considered, I highly recommend this product.

READ THE REVIEW. Don't judge by just the ratings.
This is hard for me. My Background: I am casual user, who consumes an "unhealthy" amount of music (a few hours a day at least). So, I use Headphones that are having neutral sound and comfortable and well built (ATH-M40x). I rarely speakers. All that being said --- Build: Unoriginal. But great. Can't complain for lack of innovative design at Bose really. There is no water proofing or splash proofing or anything. For that UE speakers are amazing. Sound Quality: Crisp, clear and loud at my house. No complaint there. Keep in mind, I am a casual user, so I am not the best judge for intricacies in sound. Yet, I know one thing for sure. This has a lot of bass. Like, A LOT. The sound is great, but the bass Stands Out. This product is not for me (but, I am not the sole user and other people at my house love it, so not returning this). Battery Life: I don't remember charging this much. But, I use it casually. I have no reason to doubt 15 hours of battery life claimed by Bose. When, not using, it doesn't seem to be draining any charge as well. It has been around 1.5 to 2 weeks since my last charge and I used it sporadically, and it still says battery full (almost). Verdict: This is priced at 22k (last I checked) elsewhere. This is priced at 17k at Amazon, as I am writing this. I got it for ~15k and additional 15% cashback is remaining. So for that price, I don't see any problems with this product. Alternatives: Don't buy this without researching UE speakers. You'll be surprised! They are also available at most Apple stores for live sound test.
