It is the best chessboard ever ! It even comes with 2 extra queens for pawn promotion. This a portable chess board and is very comfortable to carry around . But the only downfall of it is that it is very heavy to travel with.

Its good. The magnets are strong enough that the pieces don't fall off but also weak enough that you don't feel them while playing. The board and the hinge is fantastic with a barely visible gap. But I feel as if the price is a bit high. Also in my board the dark and white squares are offset. It doesn't matter when you play. But a bit annoying when simultaneously tracking moves while playing online, though you could just play with it turned around and have no issues that way. Other than that the board is fantastic, the quality is very fine.

I was looking for a chess set that would be easy for my 7-year-old to use and also durable, and this one has exceeded all expectations. The craftsmanship is beautiful, and the wooden pieces feel great in his hands. The best part is the foldable, compact design. It doesn't take up much space and is a breeze to put away, which is a huge plus. The magnetic pieces are strong enough to hold securely but still easy for him to move. It's been a wonderful way to introduce him to the game, and he's been playing with it non-stop. If you're looking for a high-quality, kid-friendly chess set, this is the one to get

Great Build quality.

It's a decent product, overall quality is good, i felt magnets are weak at some places and board alignment could have been better, otherwise it's fine. 10x10 seems ok, 14x14 would feel better

One pawn is missing a magnet, and overall magnet quality is managable and practical. Quality of wooden board and pieces is the nicest I've seen this far. Attention to detail is amazing. Each and every piece is carved to perfection.

Had to order a replacement becuase couple of pieces didn't have magnets. But the replacemet was smooth and we have great looking chess. The price seems on a higher side but better than other avaiable models in terms of quality.

This chess board is well made and exceeds my expectations! Great material quality overall

I was a little nervous about ordering this set, as Amazon said it was a frequently returned item. I don't know what the reason for that could be, but the set I received is flawless. It is solid wood throughout, and the playing surface is made up of individual squares of wood veneer (some boards I have seen just have a single piece of wood with dyed or painted squares). Mine is the 7x7 model, and is kept closed by magnets rather than a metal latch. I think this is better, since it gives a cleaner look, and the magnets are plenty strong enough to keep it closed. The overall quality of workmanship is excellent, with smooth transitions between the two halves of the board in both open and closed positions. The chessmen themselves are very nicely made considering their small size. They are satisfyingly proportioned and easy to tell apart from each other. The magnets felt a little weak at first, but they proved to be strong enough to hold even the heavier pieces in place, even when the board was held sideways or inverted. Stronger magnets may actually be a bad thing, because it might cause the pieces to be attracted to one another and cause problems. All in all, I don't have a single bad thing to say about this set. It's an absolute bargain for the price, and I'm thinking of buying some of the other sizes. It would make an excellent gift.

I purchased 10, 12, 14 & 16 inch boards to see which I liked the most. I ended up keeping the 14x14 and returning the rest. I purchased this to have a travel set that I could bring with me to set up at coffee shops or parks to play with friends. I found the 14x14 to be the best in terms of compactness and ability to travel with while also maintaining some integrity of what a real chess board and pieces should feel like. I really love the packing of the pieces within the foam under the board. Other sets I found the pieces would not actually sit in their molding and would become damaged while transporting. The board itself looks beautiful with a nice gloss finish and the pieces are a nice wood that don’t seem cheap. Honestly was very impressed overall with the quality of it especially for a travel set. Something to note is all sizes 12x12 and under do not have a latch on the side for the pieces. I didn’t keep these sizes long enough to see if this would be a problem but 14 & 16 inch models do have that latch. Moving down from 14 to 12 the pieces are noticeable smaller. Would be nice for really tight spaces but I’ve found that even smaller coffee tables are able to for the 14inch model. Don’t think you can go wrong with any of these options just wanted to give the feedback having bought all of them.

I like the quality of the board, the pieces the spare queens and the foam cutouts for the pieces. I like having checkers pieces as well. I like the fast delivery. I dont.like.beo g asked to grade every single thing I buy from Amazon
