Fun little gadget! Make sure ya have two AAA batteries for remote
Rarely do I write a review do soon after getting an item, but ordered it spur of the moment for a camping trip, so had to function test it before departing. Setup: Wally World ONN Android TV box directly into projector's HDMI port. Anker bluetooth speaker. Internet via wifi on home network. All very easy. Projector interface: Appears to be a stripped down Android version. I only used it for set-up. Did not use native apps for viewing anything. Used a previously configured ONN box. Was simple enough to set time, connect bluetooth, connect wifi, and switch source to HDMI. Physical set up: Base has a standard looking tripod connection. Projector rotates on it's support. It worked well enough. The adjustment pivot feels plasticy as ya change the angle. Long term, with frequent adjustments, I'd wonder if friction could wear it down to where the detentes don't hold. The projector needs to be rotated a minimum of 30-45 degrees to attach power cable and HDMI cables. Only problem I could foresee with that is if wanting to project straight up for some reason with an adjustable tripod. Remote: Here's my only true gripe. It came without the two AAA it needs. Maaan, if I'd have unpackaged this thing and discovered the remote wasn't loaded, I'd have been miffed. YOU WILL NEED TWO AAA BATTERIES. That said, slim, cheap feeling remote worked just fine. The lack of batteries may merit listing in product listing's title. Audio: Native audio was audio enough for early AM testing in quiet house. Via bluetooth speaker, audio was much better and likely ideal. Not sure how well native audio would do for say family movie night or for an evening outdoor get together, but chilling at the house, it'll work. Video: Off loading app handling to an HDMI video stick/box seems to be the way to go. Other reviews mentioned it. I didn't even play around with the native apps. My ONN box worked great. Picture seemed great, projected on wall of room, in pre-dawn light. Will follow up later with performance in brighter environments. Was happy with resolution and how sharp everything looked, while video played smoothly. So far so good. :) Great value for money so far. Glad I got it. Will follow up after I run it through its paces this weekend. Hope this review helps in your economical mini-projector purchase. Take care. :)

Do not buy!!
I honestly believe this should be refunded or replaced by the seller themselves because this whole thing is a lie and was definitely a OLD used device BEFORE I got stuck with it. If everyone is saying theirs is working they just have the newer model. Edited to add: Since I am stuck with this hunk of garbage, I tried to do screen share so it would at least be something useful! That does not work either. I tried multiple apps, devices and everything, it is connected to the internet and Bluetooth but the projector just doesn’t get found OR will not connect. I googled multiple ways to use it with this system it doesn’t work. First, I was already super beyond disappointed in this. YouTube doesn’t work on it period. The system and YouTube are not compatible so it suggests getting a roku or other streaming stick, that’s a HUGE waste of additional money. Then I wanted to return it which is on my side, but my stupid dog chewed the cord and remote so now I can’t return it (though I did order replacement remote and had a similar but not identical cord to make it work), so now I have a useless item that doesn’t work when it shows it does and many people said it did, so I then started looking because I don’t even think this is the newest model. The box arrived looking like it had been opened a dozen times in the first place so I am pretty sure it was also used anyhow. So overall I am beyond disappointed in this projector, it might have been a good purchase if I had gotten what I wanted supposed to and it wasn’t an old used one, but instead I don’t know if it’s easy to use, has good picture or brightness, or if the color is even worth it. Sure you can carry it around but what good is it if I can’t use it. I wouldn’t purchase this one!!!!!!!

I can't believe how cheap this is, for what you're getting!
A bit late on the review, but I have this set up in my bedroom. And now I can't go to sleep without watching TV on my ceiling! It's awesome! Although I use a speaker bar with it, instead of the built in speaker, which wasn't loud enough. but the video is perfect for my needs. I have a Roku Express plugged into the HDMI port and just watch that. The included apps are hit or miss. The built in netflix locks up after an hour or so of viewing, YouTube seems to be okay. But most of the available apps do not work. But what do you really expect for $40 or $50? Oh yeah, it's "native 720" so you can watch 4k and 1080, but it gets downgraded to 720 when you view it. Again, $40 or $50! It's a steal for cheap viewing. Oh yeah, needs to be dark to get a good image. But still, not bad.

Perfect projector
I recently purchased the HY300 Projector, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. For such a compact and affordable device, it delivers excellent image quality and functionality. The picture is clear and bright, even in a moderately lit room, and the colors are vibrant. I’ve used it for both movies and gaming, and it handles both really well. The built-in speakers are surprisingly decent, though I prefer connecting it to external speakers for a more immersive experience. Setup was incredibly easy — just plug it in, connect your device, and you’re good to go. It supports multiple input options like HDMI, USB, and even screen mirroring, which adds a lot of flexibility. The compact design also makes it super portable, perfect for movie nights indoors or outdoors. Overall, the HY300 Projector offers fantastic value. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly projector that doesn’t compromise on quality, this is a great choice. Highly recommended!

good for the price
I love it, it is pretty good for the price. I will say I had hope for the brightness and color of it but I would say it’s better than other average projectors. It does come with a controller, it was easy to maneuver through, the picture quality I would say was a good 7.5/10, it does have a fan noise were you can definitely hear I would say about 5/10 for the noise and it does heat up after a good hour or so but I have never had it over heat or shut down. I will say sound quality isn’t OMG but definitely not bad enough to where you cant hear. Autofocus is decent it does take a quick minute but then it figures it out.

Great picture, bad accessibility
The picture quality for the price is exceptional. I mean crystal clear and covered our entire wall which is around 12 feet wide with clear results. But the accessibility and quality of the apps that you download is terrible. We hooked my son's Xbox up to it and it projects with better image and bigger picture than our RCA projector. If you are connecting something to the projector through HDMI, its a great product but if you are planning on using this with the system provided, its terrible. I almost sent it back because the function is so bad but decided to give the Xbox a try and it worked great for it. The sound is also not great so I would recommend connecting to a Bluetooth speaker or some other kind of listening device. But I gave it 4 stars because the image is so good and you can also go into the settings and adjust the size to bigger or smaller depending on the size you need

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!! I dont even know what this does because it doesn’t hook up to WiFi. Doesn’t hook up to Bluetooth. Doesn’t hook up to Netflix even tho the app is on there. The App Store doesn’t load. And then when you do add something like Hulu, it only allows you to put in your email and nothing else. It pairs to your phone but then doesn’t do anything after that. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME ON THIS!!!!! To the people who made this piece of junk should be fired.

LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
I love this projector so much! I actually already had a projector before this, but it was frustrating to set up and use because I had to not only plug in the projector, but also use an HDMI cord and hook that up to a lap top and the laptop was what was playing the show I was watching...the nice thing about this projector is that it's like a smart projector so not only do you only have the power plug, but you can connect via wifi or blue tooth and login to your streaming services from the screen itself, so you don't need to have another computer or phone playing the show or movie as well! It also is so small that it's easy to carry from room to room if you would like! I also absolutely love that you can rotate it 180 degrees! This allows me to watch tv on my ceiling or to even play a youtube video of star gazing as I'm falling asleep! There's also a remote which makes this super easy to use as well! Can't say enough good things about this product!!

Read before buying
Don’t buy! This is an e-waste that is it! I had TWO issue and they are enough to ignore this product 1. Out of the box, it’s a hassle to set this up (and trust me I am a technically sound diy guy) 2. And even after that is done it’s still not worth the effort, money and environmental harm 🤣(don’t laugh) Honestly do not buy otherwise I’ll come to whisper in your ears “I TOLD YA” You are welcome
