Q: On the European style rings, what's the diameter of the inner ring (the one that fits over the light socket)?

? was not answered. The diameters of the Euro fitter style spider (fits over, at the top of the bulb socket, where shade held in place with a plastic fitted screw mount), the washer exterior is 2-1/4 inches; interior hole is 1-1/4 inches to accommodate the bulb socket width. These measurements are on a newly purchased European lamp’s shade, which I am assuming, from experience, is a standard there. Hi. That small hole is for the top of the shade-only the top of the harp, where the finial will go, fits through there. The base of the shade is open.Good luck, Melissa

The height of your new lampshade is whatever you choose. At some point in the video they mention a product called adhesive polystyrene (I think). You calculate the circumference that you want and also the height. From there you buy the adhesive stiff plastic that you will cover with fabric (or whatever you like) using the measurements you want, such as 12 1/2 inches high (in case you need something to fold around the metal rings at the top and bottom) by the circumference. You can calculate that yourself. Circumference is equal to the diameter multiplied by pi ( π = 3.14 ). So with a ring that's 12" in diameter your equation looks like this: 12 x 3.14 = 38 inches approximately.

It’s. Are metal and should be wrapped before using

I ordered this to remedy a spider problem on a lampshade I purchased through Amazon from Lamps Plus. The spider was not a standard 1/2” below the top edge of shade, it was 6.5 “ below it. I tried to return, but the return shipping was over $58.00 so I decided to fix the problem. I removed the old spider and replaced with this. Works fine.

Excellent replacement for broken lampshade frame.

We had purchased a floor lamp and witching 2 weeks of purchase the lamp rings had broken and we were worried that lamp would be unusable. These rings fit the lampshade wonderfully and have held up quite well.

The welds did not hold up to the lamp making process.

Not sturdy. Fell apart while I was trying to make the shade. Not a good value, but it’s hard to find this size, so I’m going to try to fix it with super glue. I shouldn’t have to fix it, right?

Happy to get it but wires are somewhat soft

This was the only place online I could get a larger chandelier wire ring to make a DIY hoop chandelier. I was a bit disappointed the ring arrive fairly dented and the wires are easily bent. I had to fiddle with it for a while to lie mostly flat however you would probably need professional equipment to make it perfectly flat and to work on the wires till they stiffen.
