Lives up to its type as a defense type Beyblade.
(Review written by 12 year old son which is actually helpful) I just love Blast Jinnius, it's easily the best defense type Beyblade that came out during season 2 of Beyblade Burst. Why you might ask? Well, here are the details. The top layer has 6 big bumps. It provides good weight and it's good for deflecting attacks, and blocking attacks, just good for defense type beyblades in general. The top layer is also very circular, giving it good stamina. The top layer can move up during battle exposing a dark blue center core part. When making contact with another bey with the center core part, it has more defense, cutting the damage it would normally take, and unsettling the opponent, stalling them. Doesn't affect the spin negatively in any way, either. If it comes back down when the opposing beyblade is attacking there, that'll damage and unsettle the opposing Beyblade greatly, like in the anime, Joshua's and Jinnius's Cyclone Counter. Next the disc and frame, 5 and Glaive. This is a decent combo if I'm being honest. Not exactly the heaviest, nor lightest, but provides good stamina and defense like the top layer. Glaive also has 2 sharp points and 4 rough edges, helps provide more burst power when clashing with the opponent. And then there's the driver, Guard. Guard is a one of a kind driver. It has a circular ball as a tip, good for defense types like Blast Jinnius. It provides a decent amount of movement and still gets to the center fairly quick, and hold its ground pretty well at the center, other than a wide-defense tip or just a sharp tip, so it could still get some of that "attack action" and have a chance of bursting opponents. It fits in really well with the fact it has sharp points on the frame, Glaive, and can withstand lots of hits, plus having good spin strength, being able to stall out the opponent. Surrounding the ball tip is a cone-like part. It's not free-spinning, but it can go up and down, and it's sturdy at the same time. Essentially what this means is if Blast Jinnius is ever off-balance, this cone-like part will push against the stadium floor and get Blast Jinnius back on balance. Doesn't seem to scrape the stadium floor or the bottom of the cone either. And the friction with this action doesn't kill stamina, which is extremely helpful, since most drivers like this like Cycle or Yard tend to do that. Speaking of which, if a beyblade is spinning tilted, it loses its stamina quicker, and can't defend as well, so this is useful for that too. It'll get back on balance and maintain the stamina even longer. And even if it is tilted, and is struggling to get back on balance, the cone-like part also helps with LAD. What's LAD you may ask? It stands for "life after death." The life after death gimmick that comes from this driver is the reason why Blast Jinnius beats Drain Fafnir a lot in spin/survivor finishes, which is a very strong bey, stronger than Blast Jinnius. But either way it still tends to lose to Blast Jinnius due to this. Overall, this beyblade is very good and I highly recommend it. Only thing is that this beyblade has not exactly the best teeth, but that's to be expected. With all the pros with this bey, if it had good teeth, it would probably be the meta (the most used beyblade, mainly speaking of competitive battling). I highly recommend getting this bey, if you love Beyblade/you're buying this bey for someone, and if you don't have Blast Jinnius yet.

An aggressive defense Bey. Not a dull chunk of lead hogging the middle, but a lively and spirited top that is hard to put down.
A fun beyblade. My first foray into Takara Tomy. The crown sticks up under a fresh spin. Doesn't seem to change the dynamics of the spin, or help defend. The driver has a hard plastic point that provides good stamina and it has a flanged recessed and shroud that provides quick shifting lateral movement at even shallow angles. The driver flange does not spin (relative to the driver) but does move up and down. Seems to add the right amount of traction to stabilize without taking a big hit on tamina. It settles to the center fairly quick and holds ground pretty well. Defense types can be a bit dull to watch, but this one has lively little movements that if timed well, can unsettle another bey. Not enough energy to drive one to the edge, but still give a good pop. If you had to buy one defense bey, I'd suggest this one.

Good beyblade
It is a good Defence Type bey and is very good at reflecting attacks, would recommend... but it does burst kind of easily. overall rating 8 out of 10
